Well, it looks to me like incinerate is probably history after what I just read in the new patch update notes.

I knew it was coming, but boy oh boy, not so heavy that it would be blown away like that.

If you can save and rebuild it Zivko, my hat is off to you.. :)

PRE-PATCH UPDATE 2
Checked the notes, incinerate is nerfed to the ground for selfcast builds.
I dont expect to get more then 50k dps with endgame build, which is not terrible, but its basically a 50% damage nerf. That is unless mana buff is substantial enough to allow supporting incinerate with faster casting instead of spell echo, without using 3x elreon jewellery or reduced mana.
Here's the deal, 50k dps is still enough to clear all game content fairly easily and for difficult bosses theres always an option of using VMS+Scold's which will be even more powerful if incinerate is supported by FC instead of echo.

I've played with Scold's a lot in this build but didn't want to include it as a mandatory item as it both deals damage to the player and increases price of the build a lot. On the other hand, it almost doubles clear speed and makes any map boss without one-shot mechanic a complete joke, which will be even more true with incinerate supported by FC instead of echo. I'll include it as an optional item for the build in 2.1 version of the guide and record an atziri run or something with it.


Also, i'd like to note that spelltotem version of the build will still be fairly strong, looking at 90k - 130k dps, as it isn't affected by nerf as much as selfcast incinerate. If you're an experienced player and know when to run from a fight, i suggest you look at spell totem version of the build. It has higher damage and substantially faster clear speed then selfcast version of this build. Some bosses who's damage is difficult to avoid are harder with the build as you cant outleech the damage (malformation piety for example which has way too small boss room), but most bosses are trivial with the build as you can see from the videos included in the guide.

What a bummer. They absolutely gutted self-castable incinerate.

Nah, its still possible to get 50-60k with the build, its perfectly ok, just not op as it used to be. I'll respec my scion to get the numbers and update the guide, but i'm gonna be using witch for a new guide i'm writing, hybrid life+es incinerate spelltotem. That ting can still get ~90-100k dps, not counting poison.
I'm currently lvl 72 in talisman and build is insanely good for leveling, i'm already at 31k dps ona 4L, dont even have rain of splinters yet. Clear speed is great and i'm getting ~85mill xp/h in dried lake atm. I'm starting t2 maps tomorrow and will try and write something up by the end of the weekend.

Matter of opinion i guess.. on his side, Grocery says this build is dead. 40-50k, at stage 3, along with wich gear ? like top end one , x4 empower, +1 5L mantle, 21/20 incinerate, i guess ? i wasn't even there yet, just got my +1 mantle for around 15ex some days before the patch (stupid me :x). Now i'm not even sure i'll be able to recycle this gear. At lvl 92, My tooltip was ~19k (eg 76k stage 3) flat without flask up, it was a powerful build though i could team up with some mate who was clearing even faster than me with his tornado shot, wich has been slightly buffed i think (400k dps anyone ? ...), so i can't really understand why GGG gutted incinerate this badly (even coc/discharge or ice nova builds with already high output dps got some buff so i don't get GGG logic there :o)

Personally i'm not even gonna use the respec for now and will just let this char blank just in hope GGG will realize they went way too far nerfing this spell; while i'll simply roll a different char @Talisman in the meantime.

Pretty disappointed here, i don't mind to respecc but what GGG destroyed here is more like 2-3 months worth of grind time to build wealth and get the 'enabling' gear, wich isn't a fast duty in standard league (was my first char, 2+ months playing), and now in the current incinerate state, i can forsee this gear losing partly his value. Btw, one can already notice on poe.trade several 5/6L mantles appearing for sale. i'm pretty convinced their prices may drop after some time.

I did some theorycrafting and number crunching, here are the results:
- build lost a bit of es
- tooltip dps should reach ~32k
- last stage dps should be ~80k
- poison dot should be 16k, but if poison is affected by chaos damage it should be 48k
Total dps: 96000 - 128000

Gear changes:
- 6L mantle is better then corrupted +1 gems 5L mantle now
- corrupted 6L +1 gems mantle is still the best chest you can get
- we cannot use spell echo anymore
- we cannot run incinerate on mana any more

Gem setup should be:
Incinerate + Reduced mana + Faster Casting + LMP + Controlled Destruction + Void Manipulation

Build also got cheaper because:
- no need for high level empower
- no need for high level enlighten
- no need to corrupt mantles, unless you're going for 6L +1 mantle

Note: I did try to create build that runs on mana and uses empower, but it takes so much effort and results in inability to do no regen/bm maps. Considering build needed 11 mana nodes and 3 extra aura nodes. It turned out it's better to use reduced mana instead of empower and just convert all those mana and aura nodes into damage.
