2.0.0g Patch Notes

Do 3 Atziri runs after revenant nerf, 1 with them, 1 with Flame Sentinel and 1 with Evangelist, together with several maps (76+). My gear could be called GG for a summoner build.

And I'm sad, really sad. People are jumping on revenant train because it's been so long (if ever) that summoner can catch the clear speed of other builds. But now all left is a very mediocre build with sluggish high map clear and spectres constantly die to the hardest boss like Atziri (not that revenants can't die to her, but their good damage make the fight last shorter, thus avoiding her damage).

GGG is making the same mistake that Blizzard made with D3: scare to make things OP (and 2.0 classic summoner is not even OP to begin with). Everything that becomes trendy got nerfed hard.

During Cruel piety I got 2 hit at 2.8k health by 2 projectiles that looked identical to Power Siphon. They hit me nearly at the same time from different sides. Piety had nothing to do with it since she was busy with my decoy totem. 1 came from the left and 1 from the right, so I reckon it was the spawners or summons. It felt like peaking around a corner in CS:GO and being sniped by 2 USP shots to the head instantly. It was ridiculous. Are those things SUPPOSED to deal so much damage?
There were no traps/spells/anything at all on the screen and I use Lockstep @ 40ms ping, so I should've been synced properly to the instance. To top it all off this was normal Hardcore, so no tempests could've been involved.

This all happened literally 2 seconds after I walked out of the portal. It was the most anti-climactic RIP I've ever had in hardcore and there was no way I could see it coming. After 5 TPs of dodging all of Piety's shit this happens. Could someone please elaborate?

Maybe this is a bug? Should I report this?

EDIT: I read the patch notes fully and it might have been the invisible Piety beam bug. ._.

awesome defs! u r cool!
Thank goodness for the revenant nerf. They dealt crazy amounts of damage compared to other mobs.
I was exited for a moment when I read about the gladiator trio.. but unfortunately they stay as easy as any magic mob around. I feel they still lack tons of damage for the low life they have. As it is now they could be left out of the game, because you will just run them over anyway. The loot nerf was needed though. But a slight buff would be appreciated I guess :)

Amazing work, thanks GGG!
Hey, hey! It's the Postal Dude! Get him!
Excellent update, now off to kill some Warbands and see the difference :)
This was my first time actually having fun on a character at end game since I started playing when Act 2 was the end of the campaign. And I've even made like 3 summoners before this. I would always get bored once I got to maps, but playing my summoner this time around I didn't get bored at all. I did a few maps after the tonight's changes and I don't need to say it was much slower as tons of people in this thread have already pointed out. There is now no spectre that we can go and grab right when we log into the game that will actually be good in maps, especially for people who are in mid to late tier maps, I've only gotten up to level 72 maps so I could probably get by with Lantern Bearers, but that isn't the point.

With everyone complaining I wouldn't be surprised if GGG realizes they went a little over board with the nerf. At least I hope so anyways. I don't want to use anything else. I liked my spidery demon things.

Also, just fix the way spectre works in general. It makes absolutely no sense that spectres don't level automatically up to your character level when you summon one. Or even make it so the corpses from Desecrate get around that rule. Something.

I don't follow all the top tier builds very closely, but from what I've been reading summoners (not-SRS) were never top tier, but Revenants were allowing us to do so. So I don't know if that is more of a problem with the Revenants or summoners in general. I mean really, GGG is always going on about item and build diversity, but before 2.0 summoners exclusively used Evangelists and Flame Sentinels. Now everyone was using Revenants. Maybe change the way spectre works so it's not just limited to like 4 choices at most.
God damnit...really did LS projectiles proc fortify really have to be nerfed? It is melee for christ sake.

3.13 was the pinnacle of PoE. IVYS+1 Gang 4 Life.
People say summoners are crying over the Revenants nerfs and ggg's lies. Wrong.
Lets see what would happen if it was a cyclone nerf.
More salt would fall then the oceans have.

GGG another bad over nerf. I wonder if they even read this?
Cool! Looking forward to trying out the improved Lockstep bandwidth tonight! :)

I'd say its a problem with summoners in general. Revenants were excessive and complaining they got nerfed just because of one build is not cool. Complaining that a build type is not as efficient at atziri as others (now) is also not particularly logical. In all honesty summoners are a more 'complex' build and GGG may never hit the sweet spot for them. They'll either be op or a bit tame in specific circumstances like hard boss fights. Part of the build in my opinion. Perhaps spectre level could increase with the gem (say +1 per 2/3 levels or something).

+1 to GGG for changes, time to test but it sounds good all across the board. GZ for making a hard choice. Merciless should be equally hard for those complaining the nerfs werent necessary, and that's where they should be playing...
