[2.2] King's "Immortal Reaver" - Crit Bino's + Max block Aegis +115k dps

Hey, this 6l is only solid chest i have, is it good for this build, w/o ES?
So far, I have this gear and these passives, and I am dying like crazy in tier 6+ maps with my lvl 86 toon. Dunno whats wrong. Block is also nly 60 % with Tempest shield on.

Passives

I picked up 3 sockets, because I have these beauties

It's a great Chest, but something with 400+ es would be better :)

No Rumi's and no ES on Chest. that seems to be a problem.
I, like many others have had some issues with staying alive on this build.

3k life + 1.7k es is only 4.7k ehp - very small for a hybrid build. Our shield has a great side effect but pretty low energy shield + armour.

High armor/block is dependent upon rumi's being up - it's pretty easy for it to drop for a second and then you take a big hit from a boss in a map and be one-shot.

Some tips:

ES takes some getting used to, make sure you give it a chance to regen, especially on burning ground maps

- Life on EVERY rare item. This build has too many uniques so it's hard to get much + meet your resists.
- 100 life/mana on kill on splendour is useless imo as bosses are the only thing that challenges it.

Dps is quite high, so mostly what I'm looking to tweak is survive-ability and qol since I hated constantly cursing.
- I've replaced both curses with blade vortex + Coh + assassin's mark + power charge on critical. It's like cursing only you don't target it, just hit it once every 6 seconds or so.
- I'm currently running discipline (+300 es) + HoA + Artic Armor (helps lower the abyssus physical damage issue more). Dps is about 10k less (35k vs 45k @ 82) but that's still really high.

My next goal is getting Ghost Reaver, I think it will help a lot. Our blocking + leeching life directly to ES will keep the ehp pool high.

I'm not sold on Bino's being that useful here, will look into some alternatives. Life regen doesn't help with high ES, and I don't think works with ghost reaver - if you're down to life you're pretty close to death.

Well, my turn to give a little feedback on this build:
As said before this is really fun to play and incredibly tanky for a meele dps build.
I ran up to tier 10 maps without facing too many problems, only hard hitting bosses and mobs need a bit of skill to be taken down deathless.

Here's my set up :
Spoiler

-So first of all i'm playing with +1 curse Lazhwar wich is really a must in this build i think.
Casting curse manualy is too slow and it's then easy to lose, or power ,or frenzy charges just because you don't meet mobs for 3s. I guess a curse on hit could work but can't be as good as doble blasphemy on a +1 curse setup . I often get full charges on 1 pack and i just whirling blade to next pack quick enough to keep charges up.

-Yeah, doble blasphemy is 70% mana reserved wich is alot and just let some place for herald of ash. I cant play with hatred so i lose a bit of DPS on tooltip but what's the most important for me is the clear speed, i just run through the whole map, no stoppin' for cursin' and i think i clear faster than a higher dps tooltip (i oneshot pretty much everything once fully charged)

-With this i got only 35 mana left for attacking (i use bloodmagic for everything else), wich is enough with poacher's mark (restore 33 mana since reave hits 3 times with multistrike) and mana rege, i can hit forever as long as i hit at least 1 target. I just hope lvl 20 reave wont need much more mana. I can't garanty this would work with 6L either.

-I got 4600 eHP wich is enough to not get one shotted. I rarely go under 35%hp and when i ever do, or HP rege or the seething pot save me.

Wich brings me to the next 2 points:
-Snake bites gloves are pretty decent with this build. With Bino's and since i'm almost always full frenzy charges, i'm getting a shit load of hp rege. When i kill a pack i get around 4K hp rege/s. I just cant die except from a real one-shot. And what it needs to really one shot me is a Brutus/Kole lvl 75 or so.

-Still i manage to clean this map kinda easly because i dodge most of Brutus attacks. It's easy to whirling blade through him and always hit his back. Except if the map got frenzy charge/ cast speed mods, you should see his attacks coming from miles away, and it is so for almost all hard hitting mobs like gigantic skeletons or bears. You HAVE to use whirling blade every 3s or so to keep fortify up anyway so try to time the enemy attacks and just dodge them. It is also better to whirling blade right before you use Rumi

-For more defences/sustain, i play with endurance charge on stun and life leech on counter attacks. Cant really tell how efficient life leech is, but it helps recharging your ES on block once you picked ghost reaver.
I got CWDT + Temp Shield + IC wich helps not dying and keeping Temp Shield up.
Also got Vaal Reave for more fun and clear speed

-I picked more EV/AR nodes in tree (giving also more elem resist so i can play with snake bites). I'm thinking about refounding the pure EV nodes since i got very few ev on my stuff, not quite sure what's the best yet.

Anyhow this build is working fine for me with a little adjusments here and there, as OP said you need to be carefull with some packs and bosses, it's not a no-brain face tank build, its more like sneaky assassin you never catch, the block chance working pretty much like evasion except you heal each time you evade :p

Planned tree for 90+ (i am starting taking power and frenzy charge, i got everything else)

Well I'll throw my opinion in here as well then. This is my first time seriously playing POE since rampage League, but I'm having a blast. The only place that's been really scary to me was a Zana daily in Poorjoy's. But slow and steady got me through there as well.

My current setup.

Spoiler

Not yet quite as I want it, but most of it seems to work well enough. Since I'm not that good a player I currently have Fortify linked in with Reave and a Faster Attacks linked to Whirling Blades. I'm planning on practicing with Fortify on Blades and a Melee Phys DMG on Reave instead. As I expect that to cause some deaths I'm waiting for my next level to do that. That should increase my dmg as well as rerolling Splendour to get a green on the unlinked socket so I can put Vaal Reave back in :P

Other than that I'm using my Tempest Shield for cursing which seems to do a decent enough job, the uptime of frenzy charges seems reasonable enough to me.

My mana reservation setup is currently Grace-Hatred-Enlightenlvl2 which leaves me with a grand total of 36 mana. Which is close, as Tempest shield costs 31 mana, but the regen is fast enough that I never have issues with Reave. This would also get easier if I can get Enlighten to level 3 which would leave more room.

I've considered turning my CWDT setup into CWDT-Ice golem-Immortal call without increased duration, and turn my mana reservation into Arctic Armour-Grace-HoA-Enlighten. But right now I'm tanky enough that I dont need it. My deaths are mostly my own skill falling short/me being an idiot.

I see you'r running a Atziri's Splendour with a life roll on it. So I'm curious now, what are your current life and ES numbers? I'm currently sitting on about 3.4k life/1.8k ES which seems to work well enough for me. But I considered going for a life roll splendour. I figured that once I had enough ES that blocks always have enough ES to fill up a bigger life pool would be better, as more of your EHP can be healed by potions.

I went for the bigger ES pool, but am considering buying a life roll one to feel the difference.

I'm currently at 3K4 HP and 1150 ES, i lost alot of eHP because i'm using a new ring and gloves with low hp rolls on it:

i began to lack accuracy and i felt like i needed those. Im not sure the accuracy rating % in the tree would make the work and its working well enough.

About life/ES roll on Splendor, it's your choice i think both are pretty equivalent, more ES is good because when u take a big hit you lose less hp, and shield recharge. So maybe you need to progress slower in map because you're waiting for ES to recharge a bit more (tho i think recharge rate is % of your max ES). The real problem beeing aoe dmg on ground like burning and using whirling blade with blood magic which stop ES reload.

Life rolls makes you using your pots more i guess since i often take hit for more than my total ES, but with bino's rege it's still good.

Thing to think about is the +%hp +%ES your got in the tree, hp rolled Splendor would prolly give you more eHP since you got a bigger multiplier in tree.

Then again i got 2/3 of your shield and sometimes i block alot without taking any dmg, so my ES is just full and i dont profit the godly effect of Aurora.

Try both if you got the occasion (if you're rich just buy 2 of them :p )and let me know what's the best

EDIT: and if you buy a new one try to get max EV rolls, i dont want to say bullshit but i think its better since you got more EV multiplier in tree (since AR/EV multiplier work on pure EV because of iron reflex)
cheers

Feel free to suggest.
@civicuva

pretty nice and offensive setup!

you must lack some armor imo... what level are you and how much damage reduction do you have? Having a good amout of armor makes Aegis stronger. Is your ES making the tanking job? You shouldn't lose life often with this build, tho with Bino's it doesnt matter much.

I like the maligaro's and with the 6L elem reave and the %elem on rings and belt, you should have a strong dps!

All i can say is, maybe try another armor with more defensive stats on it (if you feel too squichy) and try to get a better rolled Abyssus.

Also you play with only 1 hp pot which got 15/30 charges, so only 2 uses, can you sustain with only that on bosses?
