[2.0] "Neptune's Exemplar" Dual Wield Crit Ice Crash by wraithe_au

Try using whirling blades for fortify then, i like it better than leap slam as a movement skill. (But it obviously cant pass obstacles so i still sometimes have to leap)

With fortify on whirling blades and an autocurse setup with herald of thunder, i practically have 100% uptime on both damage reduction and the 4 power charges and never have to worry about either:

Nice tip, will try that right away
Im gonna have to give up on this build it seems, I keep dying from wierd situations in lowlevel maps (72-74), usually its like a 1 shot or 2. My evasion based reaver has worse gear, but can survive in all level maps :(

But I must say thanks to the OP, was fun to try this build, but leveling is too frustrating with deaths.

R.I.P bino
Thanks for the build, having a lot of fun with it.

Currently lvl 75, did not spec crit yet and missing a few items to make it perfect (my Daresso is only 5L as well but well I play on Warbands so less items available).

I have a question tho, why not use the Doryani's invitation belt with cold damage and armor? It has decent resists too and life leech, you can even use the physical damage one if you need the 3 resists.

The only thing missing is life but that should not make that much of a difference is it?

TIps for starters : don't bother with Abyssus until you have more than 4k life and try to go for a near perfect roll on damage (40%) or it will be very frustrating to get one shot by any melee rare or boss, witohout abyssus with 4 frenzy charges my DPS is still really decent (27k) and I don't have Catalyst or Bino, I am also using rare gloves with high resists as I can't afford great rings right now.

Here is what it looks like with the best 1h crash weapon in the game

Same tree, with these items

BTW, is Vulcan really dead?

Spoiler

So many strikes within one breath.
But only one strike needed, for certain death.

Oh, come on. Vulcan is far from dead, the main problem lies with ele prolif.
For try, for see, and for know.

This is a buff

From what I've experienced in 2.0, HoA prolif is weaker than 1.3 for sure.

But with ice crash, because the hits are so big and is not watered down by multistrike, the overkill is double the amount that dual strike was, which makes the HoA burn pretty powerful.

But of course, you will no longer get the full screen clear of the old burn.

HoA-prolif is still very good at boosting clear speed

i'm doing something similar atm but i'm wondering if IR is really a must. i;m at 25+ armour and eva with daresso's and i don't really have any problems since i can use granite when in trouble (if ic doesn't proc in time). i'm 83 and didn't spec into crit yet, no catalyst or diamond rings. i'm really interested in the whole armour thing. even with my low eva i still stay away from a lot of hits and so, i'm not entirely sold on going ir just to have a 50% armour up without flask but get hit by everything constantly (a lot of mobs hit with ele dmg and with ir i couldn't evade some hits ). any thoughts ?

You make very good points.

I went with IR from what the concensus was on reddit.

There was agreement that the mobs in high level maps hit too hard since there were reports of 5k rhoa charges and the like.

Also, in 2.0, the effectiveness of armor rating in general had been buffed.

Personally, i have never gone wrong with using dodge as the main defense. The combo of Daresso+acro+vaal grace for capped dodge was always good.

I think i will drop some points to take acro+phase and see how well it performs at end game.

i've just equipped abyssus and the increase in phys dmg taken is clearly high. however, with just 3 end charges up and 1 granite or iron skin(95) i can still get up to 70 mitigation. i don't think i will spec into dodge though, 50 less armour seems too much when in combination with abyssus. with only 4.5 k hp atm and kinda crap gear 4l daresso's and bad weapons. i can do most map mods up to 73 maps ( didn't get higher lvl drops yet). i still didn't spec into crit and i think until i can get all the crit nodes needed, sticking with rt makes more sense (blind, evasive all that stuff). since i'm having mana issues still, i am keeping a 4l for molten strike-multi-fortify-melee phys for single targets and it does really well. for whatever build variations and weapons choices u gave in the initial post i think hands down soultaker should be a must :) it's quite hard to deal with mana in 2.0 especially with this tree. also, a soul taker will allow for an AA to be run, which should almost negate the phys from abyussus(aa + end + chaos golem).

le: instead of dodge, with the ammount of eva daresso's provides, or depending on gear, ondar's could be a better choice. getting rid of projectile damage may be worth the 2 points on the tree since when confronting melee hits a granite will always be up, thus not a lot of evading needed there
