I'm playing this build right now. My witch is level 42 and about to get the Blood Magic keystone next level. Can you tell me why Blood Magic keystone is preferred over Blood Magic support gem skill? Wouldn't the gem allow us to use our mana for offensive auras, potentially giving more dps than added chaos dmg dps? Thanks.

I would like to have tips from you veterant to know how i can improve ? im doing fairly easily level 74-75 map but i feel weak when i join friends party level 77-78+.

If you are using Infernal Mantle you will be taking the extra damage because of the mana.
Hello fellow totemers. I'm running a modified version of this build focusing on IIR/IIQ and I found myself with an empty 4-link slot.

Can anyone suggest some safety/defensive gem combo?

I'm already using CwDT+IC+Inc Duration+Temp Chains (I'm VERY fragile, so I thought temp chains would let me live longer, at a cost of overwriting Flammability)
I tried Vengeance+Life gain on hit+Inc AOE+Fortify... but Ancestral Bond prevents that from working.

I mostly solo, or swap to a culling weapon when in party. I don't plan to run a culling totem separately from the main one, mostly because I like the IIR/IIQ on everything I kill.
I'm also not running as BM, because I use the mana for Purity of Elements and Divination Distillate (With BM I regenerate life too quickly to benefit from the flask).

Thank you for making this build. The last build that I was using was the carpet bomber witch and it was fun. In fact that build was the first build that I took all the way to end game mapping. Now that build appears to be dead as of patch 2.0. I do have some ideas that I want to try out myself to see if I can bring it back to life with a few adjustments to the build. If it is possible and I actually accomplish it before someone else does then I will need help in making a guide for it since I am not good at making build guides for this game.

If I do accomplish I will post the skill tree that I am using along with my gear and some explanation about the build as best as I can do. Hopefully that will be enough information that will allow others like you to see what I have done and why it would work, that is if I can make it work.

I have a level 34 witch using this build and I can see there is some flexibility in the build as it is right now. I have decided to take quick recovery earlier than listed, along with a few extra nodes that I will spec out of later to handle mana issues. Otherwise it is a great build that I am having fun with.

Using this scepter and speccing to crit build gives 16k dps. Not dual wield though. With a semi-decent ES shield.

Currently on 3.1k unreserved life/1.4k es (Only using artic armor) 30-32% crit chance and 450% crit multi
Capped resists (besides chaos)

depends on the build... i presume you can't check the DPS after you equip each of them

if you compare the both items on best stats then:

Apeps Rage
+20% spell dmg - fair
+65-105 Chaos dmg - good
+30% increased cast speed - great
+10% chaos resistance - insigniffcant
40% increased Mana Cost of Skills - doesnt affect us

Consuming Dark
60% increased Global Critical Strike Chance - good (great on a crit oriented build)
+1 to Level of Socketed Fire Gems - ok (totems need a 4 link, but you can use it for a culling strike combo)
60% increased Spell Damage - great
+40 to Intelligence - ok (helps with item requirements and ads 8% to ES)
75% of Fire Damage Converted to Chaos Damage - great
Your Chaos Damage Poisons Enemies - dont know the poison specifics, but it seems handy

for me the dagger is overall better
