[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

So far the build works just amazing for me, hit 89 today, running 74-77 maps. At this point survivability seems to be the weakest point but to ease it up a little, on top of our defensive setup I am also running selfcast molten shell (works pretty well with a few armor nodes we pick on our way to BM) - that leaves me with 56% dmg reduction with 3 charges up, I am also considering picking up another endurance charge with few skill points left. As far as dps goes, I'm just over 10k with 5 link on my Infernal mantle, so far it seems to be just ebout enough to melt almost everything - fire res/equilibrium doesn't really slow me down a lot, in fact I have yet to encounter a map mod I would really struggle with.

This is probably my third league with flame totems (I realise I am that bad, though I kinda enjoy totem builds in the end) but this is the one I have the most success with so far, so I thought I would share a bit of my opinion on it.

Up to 75 on the build, switched over in the past few levels to the 100% chaos route. Been having a lot of fun. Sitting at 4005 hp, 822 ES, 13.7k dps.

Is three dragons good with this build? I'm not running flame totems myself, but I have a friend doing it. What should be changed if they wanted to run three dragons, or should three dragons just not be used?

Also, how does herald of thunder work with totems? is it a matter of getting a kill with burn damage procing it?

- People talked about 3 Dragons here, go find it.
- HoT gives xx-yy lightning dmg to spell, which boost FT dps up.

Three dragons will be pointless because there is no crit in this build to take advantage of it. HoT works with this build as added damage, it doesn't really proc.

Right now im lvl 88 with the only difference I focussed on the Magic Find gear.
Even though im a MF I have great survivability and im even able to run 78's maps with ease.

Quick question, what about malachai's simula iron mask? would it not allow us to skip blood magic in the tech tree?

It would do, however we'd also lose out on Mortal Conviction, meaning running any auras would be a lot harder. If you do not want to run any auras, you could consider this an option if you like, take into account the stats you'd not be able to get on your helm though and make sure you make up for defences in other pieces of gear. I wouldn't recommend this purely for the DPS loss of not running auras effectively and limiting yourself to the helm.
