[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

Curious how you are getting the int for wands?
My BM FT is level 83 in Torment. I'm getting most of my INT/DEX from the tree and from gear. I have to run stuff like this until I can replace it with better, lol

A question about the leveling proces. I am currently using a 3-link wand with +1 to fire gems and 6% cast speed. Around what level should I switch to getting at least a 4-link armor? Or should I wait till 55 and try to get a +2 to fire gems? And considering i'm playing tempest, should I at some point start using a shield for the extra resist/armor?

I had a mediocre 4L5S chest drop for me at about level 45 or so. I went from 3L totem-add light dmg-faster cast, to totem-fire pen-faster cast-faster proj. I lost about 300ish tooltip DPS, but I can tell I am killing things faster, and OMG the flames shoot FAR.
any advices what to change? My target is more mf and better dmg.
Do I need to level my lightning warp gem? It seems like the damage is pretty low, and I don't want to accidentally kill stuff that explodes on death. Is it better to leave it low level and just use it for the warp?

Thanks!

You won't be dealing damage with it since you'll have Ancestral Bond. You'll still want to level it as it will gain reduced skill effect duration which will make it faster.

I switched to shield in Cruel Harvest A4 and to a 4L when a "good" sceptre dropped. My damage was about 150 DPS higher + a monster range because of Faster Projectiles.

Anyone playing this in tempest and farming maps in merc? Can you show your gear?

Well I'm 73 in Tempest and I played every rare map that dropped with any mods thus far. 68-70 maps, not higher. No problems at all.

I'm playing selffound at the moment, 5.4K tooltip DPS with Herald of Thunder.

I will slightly change the build not going above Fire Walker in the tree, skipping Cruel Preperation and Heart of Flame for a few more Armour + Life nodes in the Marauder Area, Unyielding and the Purity of Flesh circle.

So for tooltip deeps, is it per one projectile or per totem? Or how do you even properly calculate the dps for this build?

It is Damage Per Second, exactly that.

This cannot be true. My Flame Totem Tooltip shows 5K DPS but the output is nearly my friends 17k (per) Shockwavetotem. I assume it's 5K per Projectile per Totem. That would be around 30k DPS and seems more realistic?

This statement is incorrect, the tooltip DPS is the DAMAGE PER SECOND your totem will deal. When you put down two totems, that will obviously double DPS (I've tested this before someone tries to argue shotgunning. Shotgunning is a different mechanic). Also, fire penetration is not taken into consideration, you're also maybe forgetting that chaos damage naturally deals more damage than you're used to due to lower resistances the mobs have for chaos compared to other elements.

All in all, your tooltip is exactly what the DPS of your totem is, before taking into consideration enemy resistances and penetrations etc. If you still don't believe me, take out your faster casting gem link and you'll see the tooltip change (or add one if you're not using it for some reason)! :P

Thanks so much for the quick response!
