If this is the direction GGG is going with their prizes I'll go from having a slim chance to absolutely none. It would make more sense to have first X players that kill Malachai go into a raffle.

Server instability + unbalanced gameplay + bugs + first kill laptop prize race = lotta tears :)

Good luck. I'm gonna enjoy the new content at a decently slow pace (checking lore, etc.), since I usually skip skip skip! everything...

Im not one to complain easily, especially when you can win shit for free, but...
winner will probably be a pro streamer who already has decent enough hardware as it is.

Also the chance of you getting the first kill is indeed close to none.
I don't feel sad at all im not really hunting the laptop, i will just enjoy the release on my own pace.
But i can understand a lot of people feel "left out" because you can't really claim this is a "fair" assignment ;)

If you are the first you deserve to win...

Well, there should be in-game timer which could count the time spent from the start of leveling exact character to the moment of that final kill and once you kill that final boss, your next character's kills shouldn't be counted. You could make another character only if you didn't kill that boss with previous character. So... first kill with best time (only first kill time counts), not from the Awakening start but from starting your game in Act I.

As for me... I'll be at work when The Awakening will be released, I don't have beta access (I wouldn't know how to level fast) so I will not compete.

This is true. Without a ssd, load times between areas are 5-10 seconds instead of 1-2 seconds. May not seem like much but it's enough for a race this highly competetive.
