[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

@chimurestaurat
Spoiler

Perhaps we're getting so off topic that we should move this to a mail discussion :-)

Anyhow, it sounds as if you enjoy the Blight mechanics as much as I do.

For Blight to be viable, you ought to be able to play the Blight skill as much as possible.

Like it or not clear speed *and* single target DPS - both - are going to be important going forward.

Contagion spreading Blight DOT's might make Blight really viable - either implement this mechanic or a similar substitute... or why play Blight?

Abyssal Cry is not quite as good IMO, but is OK - why - because Abyssal Cry does not necessarily buff Blight - it relies on the presence of other mobs - not necessarily present in boss encounters - and, doesn't really promote the Blight play-style - in other words, just pick some other random skill an then augment that skill with Abyssal Cry - would'd you be any worse off.. maybe often times (somewhat) but maybe not in the best case(s).

For the record, I don't mind OT stuff here, especially at the end of the league when CA questions are at a minimum. Just keep them more or less spoilered.

Any discussions about 2.6 or 3.0 stuff are fine too, but make sure you TAG them in spoilers, particularly if they are actual spoilers about the content. Some people would prefer to remain in the dark and play it blind.

I think its going to be hard to remain unspoilered to 3.0... at least until the reactions die back down...

Spoiler
Legacy League looks interesting... especially if they are already considering keeping it going forward for at-will personalized league modding... I wonder how it will work in parties tho?... Party leader has priority because they activate map device... and whoever enters a zone first in storyline?

Anyone have any thoughts on which mods are best once you have access?... I assume Perandus and maybe Essence and something else for leveling through the story... then something like Perandus again, Breach, Beyond for mapping/xp grinding... maybe something other than Perandus for XP

Spoiler
Source on how the mechanics will work? Afaik no info has been definitively released for how the Legacy mechanics are going to work. My presumption was that it would just be randomly chosen zone by zone.

As for remaining unspoiled, I just don't see a reason to add to the potential risk in this thread. That's all.

What people do outside of this thread is their business. :P

The Legacy Challenge League
The Legacy Challenge League celebrates the history of Path of Exile, giving you access to the 17 previous challenge leagues and old items that have long been unavailable. You’ll collect League Stones in the regular game, and each stone will have a specific league tied to it. Using a special screen within the game, you can set up to 3 of these stones active. That means all of the leagues you’ve set as active will be experienced at the same time. Insanely difficult? Yes. Amazingly rewarding? Of course.

The League Stones will also have unique stats tied to them. For instance, you could receive a Breach Challenge League Stone that will allow you to find extra breaches. As per usual, these League Stones can be traded with other players, and their value will be heavily determined by which league they’re tied to and how powerful the unique stats are.

The Legacy Challenge League gives you the power to finally answer a long-debated question: Which league is truly the best?

A bunch of the articles linked in the announcement have some piece of info on Legacy League... Curse has the most I've seen so far... only on article 4 of 17

SIDENOTE: Are there 17 announcement locations because there are 17 previous leagues?
@Piros
Ah, interesting.

Yeah, I imagine it will be based off party leader. If it's all stones active from all people in the party, at once, that'd be OP as shit.

But by the same token I wouldn't be that surprised if they set it like that to encourage more party play. Seems like a big fuck you to solo players though (whether by choice, or forced by the power of their gaming rig).

Spoiler
I see what you're saying... but then a full party could have all 17 mods... 6x3 = 18 after all... imagine if you could duplicate mods tho... (I don't think you can... I think you can use Zana to gain a 4th mod tho obviously)

Imagine Beyond + Beyond + Beyond in a Beyond mod Map with Zana Beyond :D... or somesuch

If they were going to do that, I would hope they would do something like the top/left-most league only... so each player contributes 1 mod... so then 6man would have double the mods of solo... and 4-5 a bit more... then 2man teams would be the weak link tho... unless they did something to compensate... another weird rule... just gets complicated
More 2.6 reply
Yeah that's why I figure it'll be party leader only, or like you say, whoever enters the zone / creates the map.

Makes the most sense.

Either way, there will be some clear economic benefit to be had with this league. Just a matter of selecting the right mods to throw on and swapping out as you get better unique properties.

Sup Serleth, how is everything going?
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Hello! =)

@John
It's okay. IRL is messy atm.

Been sinking some time into Overwatch. Lunar New Year event is done so I'll probably be semi-back in PoE preparing for the merge, wrapping up Apexes and the like then maybe getting some more HoWA playtime in, in the unlikely event it's nerfed for 2.6. You?

Additional Economic Thought for 2.6 Legacy Stones
Headhunter and Shavronne's Revelation imho are going to be the most in-demand items for 2.6. Unfortunately the nature of the league itself will mean that these particular items will have less value than normal, but if you're interested in giving yourself a crack at them, either for your own personal use or for spinning the RNG wheel in hopes of making some Phat Profit, I would definitely be running Nemesis and either Anarchy or Onslaught as two of your three stones, at least to start the league when these items will be at their greatest demand.

I would imagine Headhunter, given its extreme rarity in the first place, would still be worth having Nemesis up for (+more Inner Treasure). This should be a permanent staple for all players stone setups, imho, for this reason. I would estimate as the league progresses, Headhunter will probably dip down to roughly the same price as Shavronne's Wrappings, maybe a bit more. Somewhere between 6-15ex.

Revelation, particularly with the new changes coming to it, will likely be a few exalt as well, at least early on, given its build-modifying potential for ES setups.

Personally, I will have Nemesis and Breach up all the time (unless changes come to HoWA), if only for Esh and Xoph farming, and selling Chayula splinters (which may be critical, depending on the challenge lists). The third stone will be a swap stone for me. I'll likely settle on Perandus on a more permanent basis, but will also probably run Invasion just for funsies.
