[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
@Slimak - Serleth was responding to this comment, "I'm assuming this is still a viable build in 2.4 or no?" And his answer was yes, it is still viable, and for that matter really good. The second part was humor, if it is no longer a good build he will change the thread title, cut and run. Not unlike the sad death of Elemental Proliferation. Rest in peace four screens of ignite for all the drops...

" I get it :):) |

" My vote is for Blade Vortex - great clear speed, very good single target, able to clear all content, cheap to gear, able to go CI for tankiness or LL for even more insane DPS. |

would u advice taking or dropping acrobatics, for someone who use LC? (30% dodge vs 50% armor reduction -> hence droping the LC effictivness),
| |
LC isn't about armour.
Acro has no impact on the whole "30% of physical damage taken as lit damage" bit. I personally recommend keeping acro. You dodge more stuff, but the stuff that DOES get through is mitigated by the conversion. The entire 580 something armour you'll get halved won't be that big a deal unless you plan on going full mitigation gear (as opposed to evasion) on top of using LC, in which case you should rework the tree to take IR anyway and benefit from Grace being converted to armour. wait,
LC makes 30% of dmg taken, taken as a light dmg, acro reduce my total armor (and evasion) by 50%, so having less armor(not the LC armor alone, my entire armor), meaning getting bigger hits, doesnt it?, | |
" The full answer is complicated. But the point is, you have so little armor that the physical reduction you're getting from armor is almost non-existent; reducing this minor amount of physical mitigation will be completely unnoticable. And if you're worried about big hits, you need a huge, huge, huge amount of armor to mitigate that - armor is good at mitigation small physical hits. It's not good at mitigation big physical hits unless you stack a ton of it. Meanwhile, LC takes 30% of physical damage, converts that to lightning instead, and then you get 75% mitigation against that due to your lightning resistance. However... Some people like to go iron reflexes instead of evasion. If that's your plan do not take phase acro. Last edited by hankinsohl on Sep 8, 2016, 6:24:53 PM

Acro has no effect on your evasion rating. You still keep 100% of your evasion.
With Acro, no armor and no LC a 1000 damage physical hit that makes it though your evasion and dodge will do 1000 damage to you. With Acro, no armour and LC a 1000 damage physical hit that makes it though your evasion and dodge will do 775 damage to you (the 1000 damage is split into 700 phys and 300 lightning, the lightning damage is then mitigated by your lightning resist. With 75% resistance the 300 damage becomes 75.) So with LC and no other changes to gearing you will take less damage from all physical sources of damage. (I think I did the math right, correct if wrong) also hank and the ninja posting... Last edited by ChronoExile on Sep 8, 2016, 6:29:16 PM
