I honestly think this is the best way to do it, and I am not 1 of those high level supporters. Reward those who make the game better for all of us. Congrats to the supporters, you deserve it.

I have often come close to buying a high level of supporter but havent for 1 reason or another. Now, I feel the hand of Chris coming down from the heavens to smite me for my inaction.

No. In June when the game is out of testing. Out of TESTING (meaning it's not supposed to be for everyone).

Everything just doesnt make any sense first the was complete equilibrium for everyone except famous streamers ( wich i get), than it was giving Kripp beta keys, now the supporters and not everyone but the "top tear" supporters. How is that fair to everyone including me i didnt spend 1000 bucks ok but i still did spend a lot of time and a decent amount of cash as an apprentice supporter. Am I glad and happy that I get access? Yes this is good news for me. But came totally unexpected, I didn't buy Grandmaster for this. I bought it because I love PoE and my steam say 2,128 hrs on record.

The blame and fault lies on GGG as they are the ones who are opening Beta up to various groups.

$500 is $500 , weather or not you got a high tier supporter pack OR lower tiers with MTX.

They should run a query, figure out who has reached the threshold and thank everyone for their support with a shiney key.

Well from what I've read about people not gaining access to beta even though they've supported the game this and that blah blah blah....do I think top tier supporters deserve access sure they do...if they do can afford 1k to donate why the bell not...but granted that is a very small margin compared to the multiple hundreds of thousands that donate 10-100$ those people deserve a chance to experience the beta...A raffle system or a selling of the beta key maybe 1st come 1st serve...if not sure what would have been fairer...but if you have watched any streams no one seems to be doing anything other than playing and enjoying...All seem to be playing the same class and or spec...not bitching nor whining just kind of disheartened that average gamers who comprise 95% of the poe market have not gotten the respect due...

I wonder why are people so mad about it.

Pay to play is still far better than Pay to win model.

For HC players, CB could be frustrating as dying to some crazy shit that was left behind because of other test could make me saur. When i will get my CB key i will pass it to sobody else most likely.

Only thing i want is the passive tree planner, so i can start planning.

It is fair beacuse:
a) It's their game
b) It's totally free (and if you spent money you generally got a reward for it such as skins and stash space, what you didn't get was any promise that you will get in any closed alpha or beta test and you did that on your own volition, nobody forced you to spend any money whatsoever)
c) It won't give people that got in ANY advantage over you (and that tactics and bosses strategy argument is retarded, you'll be able to read guides on the forums and you generally know what is the best strategy against bosses or mobs within 20 seconds of fighting them - I guess it will take you 20 seconds more to kill them the first time - TOTALLY PAY TO WIN)

So there's this grocery store called "Free to Eat" where the food is all free, but you can opt to pay them money if you want to help them stay in business. The grocery store has a policy of no waiting in line for the people who contribute. Two people who do pay money get to move to the front of the line, but the forty five people who don't pay have to wait their turn. Some of these forty five complain that it isn't fair.

The two that pay get disgusted by the sense of entitlement and never return to the store. The store goes out of business and the forty five claim victory. The forty five go back to eating roadkill and whatever they can find in dumpsters, but claim this is better because there is no waiting and everyone has equal access to the rotting food.

Freeganism ( yes, that's a real thing ) doesn't work for online videogames.
