Yes you supported them by buying support packs, etc... but in the eyes of statistics, you aren't any more important than any other account holder. The fact you spent money doesn't necessarily make your opinion mean more than someone else's. They aren't be specifically unfair to you, they are trying to be as fair as possible to everyone. the fact you're aren't getting preferential treatment seems unfair to you, but if they did give you that, then it would be unfair to everyone else by that very same logic.

By the same token, I don't necessarily disagree with giving supporters early access, or enhanced access or something similar. I'm not a supporter, yet, and I don't see giving back to your supporters as unfair to those who haven't, but it's not a right. Demanding just makes you seems selfish and immature to a certain point. I would also point out that this is just the first phase of the beta roll out; they aren't done yet. Perhaps your contributions will be rewarded in another way later.

I have to disagree, those willing to contribute should be more important than those who offer nothing. Even when it comes to statistics and all emotions aside money is business that's the bottom line.

I can understand that you think they should be fair by giving everyone an equal shot to participate even if they have contributed nothing.

But you're wrong, it is perfectly fair to give preference to those who contribute or have contributed over those who don't or haven't.

I can't speak for anyone else but as far as demands go the only thing I feel entitled to is a considerate response from GGG to those of us that care enough to feel really upset about this.

Damn right I'm selfish, I put time and money into this game it's important to me.

It's amazing how many people call others selfish or immature just because they don't care about something half as much.

Everyone is selfish and if you care enough about something you might come off as immature too when voicing how upset you are.

But I would hope my responses aren't coming off as immature, that is a serious thing to me, I don't think my feelings are irrational.

Your feelings *are* irrational. Like so many people have said earlier its a matter of unbiased feedback. But your biased opinion just cant seem to acknowledge this simple truth.

You've got me there, in the argument that all that matters in this is neutral unbiased statistics I can't win. I guess that's generally the model most gaming companies follow because as a business pursuing new markets and appealing to more people becomes at some point more important than fans or individuals in the community. It's just economics, nothing personal. I get that much.

Can't help disappointment anyhow. Guess I am irrational. /endrant
So much QQ in this thread.

Nobody is entitled to anything, the closed beta access is completely random, get over your horny little egos and just wait. It's just a game. I'm currently enjoying D3 and even if I got invited into the PoE beta, I'd most likely give the key away after seeing how buggy it is atm.

I don't dissuade you from having an emotional attachment, and I agree with you that GGG would do well to release some more information about how the beta rollout is going to go and what they may or may not do for those contributors and supporters that help pay them. I have no issues with that at all.

I would offer that you're incorrect, not everyone is selfish. Selfishness is thinking you're entitled to something at the expense of someone else. Being passionate about something you care about, however, isn't a negative. It's a fine line.

Like I said, I don't think it's unfair to give supporters something in return for their loyalty. My comment about statistics though, is very accurate... your money doesn't mean anything to mathematical calculations, it means something only to people. It's selfish that you think your time is more valuable then mine. Yes, I haven't given them money, but I will, as I feel they deserve something for the great game they have put together. It's not my fault they are offering this game for free, and quite frankly, your choice to give them money doesn't make you better than me, it just means you have given them monetary support.

Again... first phase of rollout... let's wait and see what else they have in store, that may include incentives for you supporters out there before everyone gets all upset and rage quits...... oh wait a bunch have already.... *sigh*

Sooooo... he hasn't been on the forums, but he signed in to sign up for the beta... either that or he was an alpha supporter (didn't Chris say all Alpha's get in?) and got in by default since his account is still "active".

If ya'll don't get a PoE beta key, you can go play D3. It's still in beta testing for the low low price of $100.

Well I guess by your definition I'm not selfish. Just passionate. Whatever.

I don't think I'm better or that my time is more valuable only that I contributed with money and time and you have yet to do so. Contribution us valuable I think.

I don't see how anything I've asked for or said is at someone else's expense either. People can be treated equally to their contribution.

Before that I have admitted I see the point that only raw unbiased statistics are important here, I just think this has been handled poorly, that's all.
