New Skill Development - Part 3
OK.. So, I'm thinking "put it in a spell totem, and have your self a nice
decoy totem". Also, how would it work with Voltaxic Rift? Ah, I can't wait!! IGN: VodeniZec Last edited by vodeni#4804 on Mar 17, 2015, 7:19:57 PM

That's smart design having Abyssal Cry remove the model. Should cut down on GPU load.

Nice read. However: "characters that want to specialize in Taunting." Why would this be important or fascinating?
PS! Skills look nice and zombies seem to look better aswell. Path of Exile - RNG based hoarding simulator Last edited by Erak#1807 on Mar 17, 2015, 7:26:40 PM

With all this taunt talk, is there any chance the taunt effect of decoy totem is going to be improved?

I really like this new series of dev updates!
I think the visuals of the new skills are pretty but conceptually I expected a bit more 'vibration' in the warcry effect, to make it look more like a sonic wave. Right now they could be used for any other spell effect. Add a few vibrating lines in there and it's perfect! And I hope an actual warcry-soundeffect will be added?! The buff effects seem to be a bit too subtle at first glance, but that might not be the case in action. Last edited by Olanis#1114 on Mar 17, 2015, 8:02:50 PM

Here's a possible simple solution to your mechanic testing problem.
If pathing error (Cannot find path to target) Check for another target -> attack closest target. This prevents the monster from running away like the current design setup. Currently in game, this happens on a lot of mobs if you are on a ledge, and they cannot path to you. They simply run away. "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence." Why not just set it up so that if the AI cannot reach the taunter, they go for the nearest valid target instead?

Remember they actually have to CODE things. They cant just come up with an idea in a forum post. You really think they hadn't thought of that idea? Coding something and just coming up with an idea are very different.
