ok cool, worse case scenario... if on the trio u die and u dont have a VMF up, is that the end of the run or is it still possible to scrape through?

You can scrap through but it won't be easy. Load up Atziri's Promise, Taste of Hate, Ruby Flask, Eternal Life Flask, and Granite Flask all at the same time to try to kill them one by one. One mistake and RF will help you kill yourself. Use pillars to block damage from range attacks.

Alternatively, you can equip a dagger with whirling blades. Put Faster Projectiles on Incinerate and kite them for 10 minutes to do a deathless kill on Trio.
