I think I'm missing something about Poison arrow vs burn prolif mechanics
Burning damage is not area damage, Conc Effect does not interact with it

I can honestly say I never expected this at this point.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" He used Fireball. I guess the main target isn't affected by the Conc bonus, similar to Static Strike. But the ignite is, because the skill is still tagged as AoE, his test proves just that. Edit: actually I'm not sure and starting to get confused again. :D Too bad he didn't post his exact setup. But this would be inconsistent with my experience with Fire Trap. Oh, just in case it wasn't clear, I never expected anything was left to clarify in the thread.
Effect is AoE damage - scales with area damage bonus Ignite was inflicted with area damage - scales with area damage bonus Proliferation doesn't do any damage itself - there's nothing to scale with area damage bonus I hope nobody expected a triple-dip here. " Feel free to disprove http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/661106/page/1 It is also the only thread where the effect is tested.
" It's small wonder there's one in the first place, we test the info we get directly from devs only if we smell something fishy about it, and I never saw much stink rising around ignite. That said, stink or no stink a doublecheck shouldn't take much time, guess I'll do one tomorrow just to be sure. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I did a Hillock test with a low level Fire Trap, setup: Fire Trap + Chance to Ignite + Inc AoE + Fire Pen (+ Conc), total chance to ignite 96%. Conc Effect was level 20.
3 kills without Conc, time to kill: 29s, 30s, 29s 3 kills without Conc, time to kill: 16s, 15s, 16s Numbers are a bit skewed upwards because I had to tab to start/stop the stopwatch and there's a time required for the first trap to activate. Multiplier is definitely higher than 1.69, but lower than 1.69^2 as expected because the initial damage and the burning ground are only affected once. Consistent with ignite damage being affected in my opinion.
" Yeah, but he tested using Fireball, which has initial hit and Area of Effect explosion properties. Would be nice if he tested with a full AoE skill instead. Assuming the fireball hits one target and explodes, would the fireball supported with Concentrated Area of Effect and Elemental Proliferation use the AoE or the initial hit properties? Depending on which one it uses, the damage of burn can be drastically different. |

" Firetrap also has an extra burning ground effect, which to my knowledge, stacks with burning. The test is flawed Anyways, " This could be true... Last edited by H4NS#4418 on Mar 7, 2015, 7:22:39 PM

" That's the thing that bugs me about it, fireball doesn't have a thing like that, we got a confirmation from devs on it once. Fireball does an AoE when it explodes and nothing else, it does a non-AoE hit only if it pierces/chains/forks and I don't think he did his test with any of those. If ignite from fireball lacks AoE property that would be among the funniest undiscovered bugs to date. I planned on doing it with a maxed flameblast to be sure, in any case.
