Think first.

I'll explain how I think they are OP again and you can tell me your opinion on why they arn't.

1. Gloves are a 5 link.
2. Gloves make any build that uses lightning/shock twice as effective in stacking shock stacks. When we compare to what other elements give and especially what physical damage gives (er nothing) then these gloves offer alot of dps increase from the shock stacks alone. And it makes the damage needed to shock at all much less and despite that.....
3. The gloves give 1-100 lightning damage. Just to compare, thats like what 20 less lightning max damage than you'd find on a 2 handed weapon?
4. The gloves only downside is no life and lack of resistances. BUT - resistances can be easily found elsewhere so can pretty much forget that downside. So you lose 70-80 life equiping these.
5. They pretty much just made any amazing attack speed/ele damage rare gloves obsolete.

Yes i've just looked at a few posts and I think you are right.

Really didn't think GGG would release something like this when their goal isn't to have uniques take over best in slot rares....
The Low-life ring is fine, but not tremendously OP.

movement speed is fine, but not necessary. low life radius... we'll see how that goes. still skeptical :p

The only thing great about it is the unlucky mod, but only builds with extremely high defense will benefit from it, and let's face it, most shavronne builds are glass cannons.

If anything, a rare chaos res ring with +40 int (which provides 8% incr. maximum ES), +ES and some other useful stat mod or cast speed mod will end up being more useful.

The gloves aren't OP. Look at the gloves. added lightning gem support. Who will use that? Only Ele Cleavers, and even then the mana cost multiplier on added lightning is huge. Most ele cleavers don't even use added lightning anyway.

The gloves have low ES, no life, and nice DPS. Glass cannon gloves basically. Not the best in slot for the majority of builds. Just a select few

The gloves are amazing, and if I drop them I will certainly use them, however to say they have no drawbacks is not quite true. Typically Gloves will give life/2Res/AtkSpd with dmg or def filling in remaining pre/suf. Losing out on 80 base life will cost a HC character a lot of survivability, the resists can be made up on other gear certainly, but if Kaom's is being used thats 2 slots now with no resists and multiple skill points or perfectly rolled rares in remaining slots to make up for it.
Having said that someone using Kaom's and these gloves probably has plenty of currency kicking around and buying perfectly rolled gear to cover the resist loss is going to be easy for them, and kaom's obv fills in the life lost by using the gloves. Personally my feeling is that in an arpg you are supposed to reach that point where you become godlike after spending enough time grinding for your gear, so I don't see the issue with this. Once someone grinds enough to accumulate the 70+ exalts to purchase the gloves, kaom's, and a 6L beast weapon they deserve to be godlike.
Ok i'll put it another way..

If only a select few builds will use these new gloves, why have they sold for over 20 exalted?

Do many rare gloves sell for anything near that?

I realise they are new and probably overpriced currently. But still, a bad unique item doesn't start over 20 exalted even if its new :P

Same reason every other unique that was "OP" sold for as much in its heyday. Nobody said it was bad, but it is far from BiS and definitely something that us in the top 100 will never consider using over an alternative rare glove. Vocal minority as usual, just like when they cried over LG, Taryn's and every other popular unique. Marohi got its share at one point too.


There is a reason we don't use Blackgleam with Lioneye's Glare. Same reason applies to this. You. Will. Die.

I think players who use Alpha Howl's and Kaom's Heart will probably give this pair of gloves a miss.

Point 4 is pretty much untrue. The life range on gloves is usually 80-90, and on a player with many life % nodes, that's easily 400-600HP lost.

Also, the elemental resistance will be crucial especially in high lvl maps with ele weakness and -max res. So comparing this new unique glove to a pretty decent rare glove with 10-15 IAS, 80-90 HP and two 40 res, that's so much you will be losing.

I'm assuming you're referring to hardcore. In softcore, almost every end-game ranger uses blackgleams with lioneye.

5-L Lioneye Bow used to fetch 25 exalts easy 3 weeks ago. Now its barely at 8-9 exalts.
