New Skill Development - Part 1

Awesome to hear that there is new skill family, definitely a fresh breeze. Great job.

To Rory:
Also i have a question: How hard would be to implement some DoT skills?

Iknow there is poison arrow, viper, searing, fire trap and RF but thats it, you cant count puncture because if you have enough Phys dmg to kill with bleed you dont need bleed. There is no DoT spell, nothing that is not-ground-targeted, some kind of plague, spell that spreads between enemies usable both as main skill or as a support with clever gem setup.

(For haters - i played a ton of a burn prolif builds and lot of Dot builds and it just doesnt feel right, not the warlock-dot-everything-and-watch-it-dye type of feeling)

Have a nice day, thanks for an awesome game!
Best buid is fun build

I think GGG need to buff at least a little bit lightning arrow, because everyone is using just tornado shot

Around 2 years ago every ranger was using LA with Lionseye Glare. Then GGG nerfed it to the ground. :) Completly useless now.
There is no balance in this game. What is fun and strong is nerfed. GGG decide what skills we should play when every new league starts.

I'll just leave this here

+1000

I would love to have support-gems for warcry-skillgems. One gives +max-resist, one gives dmg+ and so on. So you can use the cries for different tasks. Likew in d3, where you can "link" your cry to more damage, splash, life-reg, resists up and so on. But only if we get another 4-link-source.

The Sirus fight is a disgrace.
they dont need to fix melee because its not broken. The game isnt all about clear speed, people take what they read in these forums to heart way too much and get so far off track in their heads as a result. You will read the opinions of idiots and children, learn to filter them out and not get all philosophically apocalyptic over it, if you were in a room with them irl you would have no problem discounting everything that came out of their mouth at a glance.

This forum and its group wisdom/opinions get so far removed from reality at times its astounding. You just need to sit around and read it for a few weeks to realize how we ended up burning witches and exorcising demons in our ignorant past, people will accept the most ridiculous nonsense as truth if enough equally ignorant people say it.

Too many people on these forums get their opinions on the game from reading other peoples opinions on the forums, not from actual experience. Half the people telling you your builds clearspeed sucks dont even have a character high enough level to be playing maps, theyre just adopting opinions. Learn the game well enough on your own to know what you are talking about, then you can spot idiots who dont have a clue and completely discount everything they say, youll find the game suddenly has a lot less problems and the idea of stopping its development is ridiculous.
what about the gem, which would be increasing base critical strike chance of linked spell (for attacks - base weapon crit, additive with current weapon crit increase)
^

I agree that thinking about stopping development is ridiculous.
Game has loads of life left and balance is and will be an
ongoing thing.
do what you want to the girl, but leave me alone.
Yes more... melee love

what else? optimizing clear speed is also optimizing survivability and loot and xp-progress.

edit: removed my suggestions as nobody is answering to them anyway.

Finally a posting i can identify myself with!

The "Community" of most FTP games has this mentality in common.
Sometimes it is even worse on full price game's boards but it seems to be mainly part of the FTP playerbase.

Everyone can download the game and share his/her opinion on it right away.
Just a small number of those players have even tried some of the possibilities included in the Game.
The Game was developed in a "You need to know what you are doing" - state of mind.
The way you get thrown into the game without every knowledge on what to look for is a thing some players love, others get into the game and want to be the best at it without spending any time as a learning phase at all. Those players google a build and try to buy gear for it. If it works, the "Game" is a good game, if it sucks they get into the Forum.

Here they read tons of opinions of different players and pick the arguments which fit their actual problem most. If there are other people having similar problems the "Game" suddenly becomes bad for them and the "Devs" seem to be ignoring everything "the community" tries to communicate to them.

This is where those 2 facts clash with each other.

In my opinion GGG does a very good job in sorting out, what is reasonable feedback and what not.
There are allways meta changes in new leagues to keep the game fresh for those players who play it for some time now. Theese players see a new skilltree and come up with their own variants of old builds or even a completly new idea.
Players who just started the game and had troubles getting into it might at this time have found a build which fits their playstyle. If this build is one to get hit by a nerf bat, they join the "everything what makes fun in the game gets nerfed" - train, without even checking if the nerf is really a nerf or if it was just an adjustment because something else was introduced what would be to strong with the old version of a skill/build.

I for myself as a dedicated selffound HC-Leagues player haven't had any problems with meelee beeing stronger as casters or what not. I just go with the shit i drop off the monsters and try to make due.

If a Char dies, well, there are millions of build variations i haven't tried yet and maybe the next guy will get one more Level as the last or at least get a nice drop for a future Char to go with and build around.
Playing this way i never got a Char higher than Level 84 and didn't do any maps higher than Level 72 outside a masters mission but i still after about 2 years of tryharding have a lot of fun slaying the hordes in various ways every day again and again.

One day i might give Atziri a go, but until than i will allways find something i have never done before!

Thanks for making this not so repeatable grindfest!

Adding new Skills / Areas / Monstertypes / Mechanics all of those combines to new tasks for us players to overcome despite eventually needed adjustments!
What about monster golf? Hit it HARD - go find it - Hit it hard again :D
