After conversation with Shadow1393, I decided to create a little guide about getting mid-high tier dagger by yourself. Looks like this guide attracts quite a bit of new players, so here it goes.

How to get Vagan's (Hits Can't Be Evaded) dagger:
You'll need to do Vagan's dailies as much as possible because of two reasons:
1) this will reset his inventory and Vagan's dagger might appear there
2) you will need him at least lvl6 to add crit chance (lvl 4) and aspd (lvl 6) mods.

Look out for dagger with aspd 1.4+ (Slaughter Knife, Royal Skean, Boot Blade or Poignard) and Hits Can't Be Evaded mod. You can buy any Vagan's dagger, but I don't think that spending 2ex to multimod on lower tier dagger is worth it. Poignard is best because of high base aspd, which will make your life a bit easier. But Cyclone dont need high aspd because of its mechanic.

Next, after you bought dagger, whet it to +20 and YOLO regal it in hope that you'll get good affix. Dont!!! augment it, you will lower your chance of getting good dagger! By good I mean Spell Damage (prefix), Attack Speed >=15 (suffix), Critical Strike Chance >=27 (suffix) or any other !!!prefix!!!. Thing is, Hits Can't Be Evaded mod is also a prefix, so if you regal any other (useless) prefix, you will still have room for multimod (Elreon's Can Have Multiple Crafted Mods), aspd and crit chance. All three of them are suffixes. Any rare item can have 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes, that's why not every affix is good for us. If you got Pingnard or Royal Skean and don't have much currency, then you can skip multimodding and add only crit chance. Those daggers have higher base aspd, so you wont have any discomfort from using them.

hi everyone first thanks to this insane guide killed my first atziri 3 days ago !

i have just one question i have at the moment 62 % crit chance do you think i can play w/o the gem increase crit chance or it's better to play with ?

Unless you can reach that much cc i wouldnt switch the CC Gem out. also the discharge benefits from the CC Gem.

For mapping you can try to switch the CC for AoE. If it feels solid, just use it that way.


For a 6L though right? Am doing this on beta, and only mustering up a 5L at the moment.

I run with 6L on standard - and was thinking that possibly for next TempLeague - another 'interesting' 6th link could be Fortify. I always play around with the 6th link as there are a lot of fun alternatives - CC, PCoC, Ice Nova, Inc AoE, Conc Effect - but Fortify could be some exceptional tankiness for things that are slightly more dangerous, ie Atziri, Uber etc.

The other possibility for fortify was perhaps Whirling Blades/BM/FA/Fortify. Zap through the air every so often for the buff.

The biggest thing that has me concerned is how much investment in aura nodes we'll need to get Grace/PoL/PoF.

With no reduced mana it now costs us 8 points to get enough reduced mana to run Grace and 2 Purities.

It's a real stretch, but I feel we have no option - with so many uniques we need that resistance.

Have been using bloodrage on standard, but frenzy charges are even more OP in beta, so it will definitely be worth running it.

Have been using EE on standard, but with the tree so stretched out in beta (further travel because of Jewels and extra nodes before and after charges) it feels that reaching EE is also too much of a stretch.

I was tinkering with the new three. Pathing is harder than before, the only good thing is the profane chesmitry cluster new location. We can get a lot of jewels sockets, so maybe we can drop some life on the scion wheel and roll good life + crit jewels to compensate.
