Yes
I just worked out that the "X% increased Y" affix on armor pieces only increases the implicit stats of the item it is found on, not the overall stat of your character. For example say your helmet-less character has 1000 total armor and you equip a helmet with 10 armor and a "50% increased armor" affix, you now have 1015 armor.

I was still using my

at level 52 thinking its "100% increased energy shield" stat made it scale decently into late game (though I would still be slightly gimped by the low base stats), when it actually only gave me 16 total energy shield.

I had the impression that your stat was (total of implicit stats)*(total of percent multipliers), just like how passive node % multipliers work. It's a shame because now I know that a lot of interesting uniques aren't nearly as viable at the end-game as I thought.

Sorry, as you've noticed, any modifier on an item, relating directly to one of the stats on that item, applies first and just locally to that one specific item.

So for that one particular item you get:
(8 ES)*(1+100%)*(1+%ES from passives)

There are very few slots that can apply global modifiers to the defense stats of all your worn armour. I think actually amulet is the only one, and those cap usually at 19%.

quick question

If i get Eldricht Battery and i use the Discipline aura for my minions, do my minions receive the energy shield or is it considered my characters shield and gets instantly transformed into mana?

i know all of the energy shield i get from the aura goes directly to mana but i was wondering how this works on minions...

Your minions don't have eldritch battery so they have energy shield when they are in the radius of the aura.

I believe it's even worse than that. The "8" on energy shield stat already includes that 100%.

If you found this on merciless the /itemlevel is 48 or more. So there is no problem with th OP.

Anyway GG for the loot :D

Is anyone maintaining the first post? Qarl just posted that for the purposes of currency drops high-level characters are treated as lvl 63, not 58.

Click the Item with your mouse, so you "hold" it, then type "/itemlevel" into the chat window (without double quote), and you will see the itemlevel.

Remember: Itemlevel != Itemrequirement
