Mechanics thread

Hi! I'd like to know how life leech works in between attacks. We know Leech applies HOTS. At what rate hp is regenerated and when? is it between your attacks or over 1s? is there delay? Does new attack overwrite HOTS or is it added? What vaal of pact changes? if i have 0.04 cast speed and vaals pact with life leech when is it applied and is it still capped by 20%/1s?
no delay, instantly applies on damage dealt up to that rate per second if you get far more leeching than your hp. vaal pact makes it not over time but instantly recovered. cast/attack speed has nothing to do with leeching unless you somehow deal vast amounts of damage and thus build up your leech HoT's.
EA is a projectile attack. Does that mean that reflect damage from EA gets a 60% chance to be dodged with Ondar's guile and Acrobatics?

This is probably something only Chris_GGG can answer.

Ondar's Guile doubles your Chance to Evade; not your Chance to Dodge. Doesn't have an effect on Acro :)

You can Evade (and Dodge?) Reflected damage from Attacks, but I'm not sure what EA's explosion is classified as. Wouldn't be surprised if neither Evasion nor Acro actually applies!

That was what I was thinking... Hmm. My build used blind so I still have over 100% to dodge ranged attacks.

You can't have over 100% dodge.

Evasion is capped to 95% and you can have 30% dodge, for a total of 96.5% of avoidance without a shield.

Some general questions here...

1) If I were to take AOE nodes on the passive tree (amplify/blast radius) does it affect a spell totem firestorm's radius as well)? I was considering a build that takes those increase aoe nodes and use a spell totem firestorm with conc effect to have a concentrated totem dps while casting large aoe fireballs.

2) If it does, would it affect the radius of Minion Instability as well? What about an increased area of effect/concentrated effect gems for MI (linked to zombies for example)? Or do the gems not interact properly since the zombie gem itself does not qualify for area effects?

1) Yes, totems use yours stats to cast theirs spells.
2) Minions use theirs own stats so AoE boni from the tree will have no effect, but the gems increased/concentrate will work.

Okay, thanks.
