[2.0] Low Budget Crit Tornado Shot Ranger | beginner friendly | great for new and casual players
" You're right, the progression guide needs some rework. I never had problems while leveling but I can see it being frustrating to only have highway stuff until late game, especially for a newer player. I will rework the progression guide when PoE 2.0 goes live, since everything is changing anyway. This time I will also change the tree to go to Duelist for more projectile damage and scrap Revelry but make use of the +mana on hit Jewels. ### r4wb1rd ###

Great guide, well written, easy to understand and implement. I leveled my first character using this guide and it was a journey to understanding the game mechanics. This is truly doable for a new player.
One critique I would make is I noticed further down in the comments you mention an SC build which is more DPS oriented, in further renditions I would love to see an SC and HC variation right from the start. I had no problems leveling up, although around 40-before I got Infractem, things started to take awhile to die, while I could face tank everything. Either way this page is bookmarked and I look forward to your 2.0 version! Cheers. |

I wonder how you don't seem to have mana issues endgame, since Infractem cannot leech. Is the mana regen really enough? I noticed that you invested just 5 points in mana in your final tree.

" Depends on where you struggle - it looks like you have tons of damage available. Doesn't look like you need an upgrade there. If you want to increase your life total, a new belt might be the way to go (although that tri-res^^) and if you're struggling with resists, the diamong ring could be exchanged but you'd be sacrificing quite some damage. ### r4wb1rd ###

2.0 Aura and Reduced Mana Changes
I'm addressing this here since the current 2.0 mechanics prevent Reduced Mana from reducing the reservation cost of auras and buffs. The cost of auras has been reduced to compensate that. For this build it's Hatred 50% and both Herald of Ash and Herald of Ice 25% each. This means with the vanilla aura setup we would reserve 100% of our mana and can't use skills anymore. I see the following options to work around that (ordered by my personal preference):
What would you prefer? Are there any other options? What clever way of compensation can you think of? PS: Enlighten is not an option for me, because it's not budget (well, Alpha's won't be either now I reckon). ### r4wb1rd ###
