Porcupines? I found that using jade flask or similar sources of evasion or dodge helps to not get hit by all the spikes (you shouldn't already since it's a ranged character so you don't need to stand on top of the mob like a melee character).

Also you have really low amount of life on your items... That +8 life on chest makes me sad. But I expect you were aiming for high crit roll craft and it ended up like that. (I tried to get high life and spell crit chest once and it was just not rolling both together.)

But yeah instead of 3 life flasks I'd probably use some more utility flasks. The recommended setup of diamond + quartz + basalt seems pretty well rounded. Also try to get a prefix on your life flask that makes it instant or partially instant, then you can save yourself from getting killed in 2 seconds (not from true 1-shots though).
While I really appreciate the time and effort that went into explaining and detailing this build, I feel it has too many weaknesses.

I've been running this build for about 6 weeks now and while it's great for early and mid-game content, it really struggles late game. In my opinion, this is strictly a starter build and not meant for any modern late game content unless you are willing to spend lots of exalts. The DPS you can put out just does not scale compared to other more meta builds and yet this is not a defensive build either. So you give up the DPS AND the defensive capabilities of other builds.

It's so frustratingly vulnerable to so many one shots. You always have to move around to stay safe, yet it relies on you to cast spells to attack which means you are very often vulnerable while standing still to cast. Even if you choose not to turn on delirium, I've found that I get one-shotted all the time within any "Rare" red tier map. To give you an idea of how frustrating it has been, I've spent at least 30 hours of game time just going from level 90 to level 91, just because I unexpectedly kept dying despite trying to be as safe as possible. It's gotten to the point that just for completion sake, I'm only going to be doing white maps for now on just so I can say I got to lvl 91 with this character.

I seriously feel I wasted so much time stubbornly trying to get this build to work. So, I would advise looking elsewhere if you want a build that can easily get you through all the late game content without the constant dying nor having to spend an excessive amount of currency.

First place for you to start is that contrary to the guide, you have no life or energy shield on any of your jewels, exept the Watchers Eye. These are listed as the top 2 priority affrixes for our jewels. Also, no life on belt.

What is your current life and es?

Get a level 21 vaal arc, it will help your dps a lot. Quality is not necessary here.

Get a 4 link for your golems and run 3 golem types with Meat Shield. Summon one of them twice. The extra life they get from Meat Shield helps their survivability somewhat and their defensive posture will absorb some of the damage you are taking.

After you fix those, compare your gear with the recommended gear for each slot and adjust accordingly.

Once this is inline with the basic guide, look towards getting the various higher end pieces. +x gem level affixes listed, they will help your dps quite a bit. Try to get a body armor with Spells have +#% to Critical Strike Chance, this helps a lot. Also, i find Gain #% of Maximum Life as Extra Maximum Energy Shield to be more helpful than the Energy Shield Regen craft you have. A mini-guide has been provided to help with crafting some of the gear.

A couple things to keep in mind. Enki has said many times that this build is not meant to compete with the various meta builds. Also, movement is crutial, you can not just sit still and face tank. Finally, as you get in to later tier maps, the price of the gear goes up...this is true for many late/endgame pieces for most builds.

So unbelievably inane it has to be memorialized.

Since we're running flesh and stone, seems like replacing the basalt flask with a jade flask is a good idea right?

Also...under what conditions do we actually need zealot's oath? I'm still pretty noob, at early stages of mapping. Haven't found a situation where I wished my ES charged faster at the cost of that kickass golem life regen.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually do have Life on most of my Gear including a small cluster jewel that gives me at total of +26% Mana Shield and +8% life. My total Life is 4,287 and 2670 ES; I have over 80% Resistance on all Elements including Chaos, and +384 ES regen per second. I obviously could spend more to try to upgrade my jewels with more Tier 1 stats in the Life and ES department, but as I had mentioned it's becoming quite expensive (or at least for me it seems expensive). I only have 7 exalts and about 250-300 chaos at the moment as this is the first time I've ever played POE so I probably did not farm efficiently.

What is the expected amount one needs to spend to complete T16 Maps and defeat all the Elders and Final bosses with this build?

Welcome to the state of self casting in 2020.

Most self-casting builds survived only by riding meta trains (like archmage / herald stacking or before eternity shroud), and a lot of "self casting" builds are not really what you'd imagine picturing a mage or a witch in an RPG. Stuff like stormbrand, essence drain or whatever other spells are still popular land far away from archetypical fireball or chain lightning (what arc basically is).

Most "good" spell builds end up being played on mines or COC (cast on crit) or spellslinger, etc. and these add extra layers of mechanics to understand making such build beginner unfriendly.

It's also extremely hard to make an elementalist "tanky" in the current meta without excessive investment. (I'm not counting golem pet builds because that's a completely different archetype, if pets tank for you and dps for you then you have to worry much much less about your character jumping into the fray and getting hurt.)

And yes, a lot of builds require much more than 10ex to start popping off, the only ones that don't are some mega efficient meta builds that tend to be nerfed when GGG realizes how efficient they are.

This build wouldn't last for 1,5k pages if it was an ephemeral flower of 1 league, which many meta builds sadly are.

Also it's perfectly normal to league start with a build that has a "glass ceiling" it can reach but its advantage is it doesn't require any specific uniques. Then you can farm required uniques with that build or currency for it and transition to a more fancy build like builds that require Cospri sword, or Pledge of Hands staff, or anything basically that isn't SSF and league start friendly.

Keep in mind that even being "hardstuck" in low level maps you can make currency especially in trade league. Sell your syndicate benches, you special temple rooms (corrupt, gem corrupt, sacrifice), not even mentioning methods like crafting, because these require more in-game knowledge than a beginner has. Even just selling low value currency adds up, like alterations or gem cutter prisms. Unless you play SSF, a lot of stuff has more value than what it says on the label. I don't remember a league where I would get more exalts from drops than from just buying them for chaos or from selling items.
Thanks for feedback Vik. Yes, I've been monitoring trade for a better chest piece for about 2 weeks now. I've played for nearly 120 hours and I only have 7 exalts right now, so hard to afford anything really good. It's a hard life out here.

Hi dude, this is my first time with POE, im trying your build, and i like it a lot. but.. i have a few problems and doubts.

1. Im level 86 now, and i have problems with the maps, im dying a lot (mostly with the bosses), i have all my resistances caped over 75% to be more specific, somthing like 90% on all of them. 3.7k life, and 1.7k ES. Im using the unique items that you do suggest on the post.

2. could you please give me a few examples of high end items? dont understand much which items are for my build, i have read your post like a 100 millon times (it is awesome the way you explained).
