And this is based on _what_ evidence?

According to the Steam stats posted earlier by Corsal8 on page 89 ...

* More of the 85% of the players who started playing PoE have never seen Cruel difficulty.

Doesn't sound very casual to me if the majority of player quit playing ...

So much QQ everywhere. You people are pathetic. Look how quickly you all bad mouth and turn against GGG because of some nerfs. They provide you with a 1000's of hours of entertainment for free and you all immediately go from "loyallovegggtheresoawesome fanboys" to "worst company ever gg blizzard 2.0.
This game needed these nerfs. It was way to easy no matter what character you played. Pretty much 90% of builds could do endgame content. But people seem to think that if they cant facetank/1shot/insta win 78 maps in 5 minutes then their build is shit.
And you all cry " Thanks for ruining my 78% block cyclone marauder, now I cant facetank/1 shot the final boss anymore. Sounds like all you whiny scumbags wanted was a 1 click all build insta win button/skill/item. All these changes where needed imo. But nevertheless continue crying because perish the thought you might actually have to use skill now.
Also thanks GGG for all your hard work. Excellent patch!

You are pathetic. You don't have one character over level 90, so it is pretty easy to see that you can't handle the end game content. You have never played a character long enough to optimize it like many others did. You're the trolling Nazi that complains because people are better than you. What an idiot you are!

Well I knew shields were going to be nerfed but this was a nerf into uselessness. Guess GGG isn't different from other developers who over react to something that is good by making it absolutly useless.

Was getting 75% block before too easy? I do diasagree, it would take me 80 to 90 points to at least grab 41% block to add to a 30% shield and then get tempest shield to make up the last 4 points.

Now the shields have lower block values which I don't agree with but i could live with. The dodge now applies 30% penalty to block, so you might as well not even have any block chances if you want to have dodge, a huge nerf to double weapon users because theyare evasion based and dodge + block was pretty natural and good synergy, not any more.

But that isn't even the worst. Now there are a lot less block spheres and by a lot less I do mean a lot. I'm pretty sure that at least a third of them were removed if not more. All the existing block wheels have been reduced in how much block they award.

It is impossible using the tree and a 30% shield (if there are any 30% shields still in existence) to get 75% block. More to the point it's either impossible or close to impossible to get all the increased block nodes. Even if some character is able to get all the block nodes within it's 120 allowance, he will have nothing else. Nothing to boost life, nothing to boost damage, nothing else at all and as such it's not viable.

Sure you can get an anvil, possibly a unique shield to give more block, heck, even a helm to improve block and that should make 75% block possible, but we are talking about a lot of uniques and even then what you need to get from the tree will still make your character, ultimatly useless.

It's not as if block before was a generalised problem. What was a problem was when 75% block/spell block came into play on PVP. If that's the case, would it be simplers to have some more passives in the tree to reduce block? Have maybe some item that also partially ignores block? There is already a support that partially ignores block, by completing these it would be possible to have a good amount of ignored block thus have a viable counter in the arena.

I know saying this will change nothing, at least not until the next patch and maybe not even that but come on GGG, don't make your own mechanics useless.

I saw 75/75 blockers randomly dead several times in PvE and had good time watching it. In PvP it was realy powerfull(multisrike vs block+dodge char with Tempest Shield xD). Was enough to add setup of 'cap' rules for PvP areas and leagues. For example hard cap on block 50%. So wnen people build PvP char they have it in mind. And PvP is dead anyway, impossible to find people 3vs3 or capture the flag(lveled). All hatchet surgery done for nothing, patient is dead(pity cuz i found CTF not bad) ;]

I want that hammer its 5 uniques per map when u use cast on death(or maybe minion build clearing whole map with 300 uniques)) xD

i care but i dont.

im going back to minecraft.
come back when this season over.
pretty sure new patch will fix this :)
still updated the game in case i want to play anyway.

no biggy.

deal with it............*fly away*
Is there another game out there where the developers randomly destroy the basic ability of your characters to function? (With each 'update'?)
My main melee-character has lost about 20% dps (lvl85), and now has block-chance of 21% percent. 21! I haven't even bothered looking at my facebreaker (85).

Oh, and nerfing the number of aura's you can use, yet again, killed I think 1 more character (85), and CRIPPLED both my (not-SRS) summoners (84, 87).

That's 3 characters dead (+1 from 1.2), with ALL their items, etc. A lot of time, a lot of effort. Screwed over for, apparently, a very few people who may or may not like PvP (for an RGP?? wot-the-hell???), but who will almost certainly not pay a single cent for their 'fun'.

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding going on here: this game is not free. I bought Conqueror, and about 1.5x Grandmaster. I am one of those people who fund the idiots who 'love' to, 'like', respec & re-itemize their characters all the time, 'cause its a challenge'.
So do pardon me if I consider your actions to be, for all intents and purposes, identical to vandalism.

After the last patch, my main char, a scion with arc (84), was screwed. I tried fixing it (skills – I REFUSE to go out and acquire new equipment for it, since it had/ has some very good stuff) if I recall correctly, about 3 MORE times – i.e. I used regrets to re-spec it. All to no avail.

I'm not going down that path again.

Since complaining does nothing, here is what is going to happen: I will keep each character, equipment-wize that is. I'll look around every now and then, and see if it can can be saved. If not, then so be it.
There where 2 or 3 other types I was going to play – for now I'll continue playing towards that – L32 I think on the one: but there is really zero motivation to invest time into anything again.
When I run out of characters to play with, then I obviously will not be ABLE to play the game anymore.
Oh, and since there are now so many dead characters, there is no more need to buy things (microtransactions) for them, is there? That, at least, one can mostly recycle. Oh, and no new stash-tabs needed either – no new chars, much less time spent playing, means no need for them: will just empty a few filled with some less-than-great stuff that had accrued, waiting for a future day when some kind of convenient auto-shop thingy was to be implemented.

So I guess the game developers can have, like, fun playing insta-PvP characters with the non-paying little douches who are, like, 'super-exited!' about having their characters destroyed.

It seems GGG has drunk way too much 'change' cool-aid: feels this game has been hit with Obamacare – paying for all the 'immigrants', for who's sake/ benefit you are then screwed over from above, suffer severe loss of use, and the expectation that you will keep funding it all...

But whats the use complaining, eh? Spending as much as I have on this game (all things considered), is turning out to be one of the bigger mistakes I have made. Guess I just have to live with that: had I only known that this kind of bullshit was SOP... Shrug.

EDIT: Note that I'm all for extending, improving the game - that's why I continued after the damage 1.2 did to my characters. Vague hopefulness. But that was all based on a lie/ misrepresentation, was it not?
It now seems that not only will the armor+ nerf never be undone/ addressed, but instead that there is a definitely established pattern of hard-nerfing (yet MORE anti-solo overall; block, dodge, etc. etc.) that would appear to be part of the core mindset at GGG: the game is NOT being improved, it is being mutated into something significantly 'else'.
I paid money to play a -certain- game: changing the core of that game, into some anti-solo, suck-up-to-the-PvP-monkeys (with PoE a pitstop, before returning to their fav FPS), shit-on-you-(read-above)-fest, means -that- game is gone.
How hard can it be to understand this?? Surely your client base (I mean those who PAY), must be showing the impact of this??
Since you are not stupid, and must know the flighty nature of the type of person you are now catering for, it follows that your plan for the game is to cancel it sometime soon, after getting a last few cents out of it? Look at it that way, and your actions make sense...

Oh, a last point: why was armor so necessary? Block and dodge? Etc. Spikes in latency. Not only are my characters reduced to where they are logically unplayable, but practically unplayable as well.
As for PvP: my latancy is 200 and up (and my line is expensive, good for where I am) - even if I wanted to, PvP would be a joke from my side.

Ehm, did I miss something? Aren't they buffed from 2% to 3%?

And not only that, we also have access to 5% ele penetration if you put it together.
That is insanely much!
What an elemental buff!
