2.3 Fakener (budget fake Mjölner) build - Trickster Version

What you think about this one? its ok for this build?

how big boost it give me?

Should be pretty nice. It lacks a good bit of attack speed but would make up for it with the fact that you don't miss and can avoid getting accuracy on gloves/rings/neck so you can get other stats. I think it would be worse than a good ambusher WITH spell damage on it too though.

Are you using Crit Dmg just for this video or have you swapped Ice Nova? I was testing a bit respecing out of EE and chaning Ice nova with Crit dmg and seems to clear the same, maybe even harder. Not easy to say really, any thoughts on this, is Ice Nova still a superior option?

Ice nova was out for the purpose of the video so that only discharge was doing damage. Ice nova with discharge seems to clear faster than with crit damage but on single target crit damage is superior. That's been my experience.

Have you tried firestorm for single targets? In theory if it crits it'll keep getting you power charges making discharge do more damage.

I haven't. I'll give it a go.

I don't know what kind of stats and all that you have running a RF build but I imagine your crit/attack speed can't compare to what I've got which is why Atziri might be a bit harder for you? I feel with my crit/attack speed I can spin through her all day with perma flasks up which provide me with 95+ fire/light making me virtually immune to anything she does. A saffells is pretty recommended for the fight, yea.

Skill Tree

Gear

I'll probably get the Crit Multipler node down by Ondar's Guile at lvl 92. I've put off taking it so I could get other stuff, but I think it's time to have it now. Pushing Discharge to 20% quality is also on my to-do list.
I'm leveling Whirling Blades so I can do the GCP recipe and get the quality bonus.

As for stats, I've got:

88% chance to hit.
70.4% crit chance - 95% crit chance with 6 Power Charges
3.3 Attacks per second
5074 HP
31% chance to evade (Ondar's 62%)
30% chance to dodge
88/75/75 resists

I don't have exact math, but turning RF on seems to give me around twice the DPS. I can't sustain it fully (missing around 1.5% regen), but because of the Life Regen per Endurance Charge, I only lose a negligible amount, so I still keep it turned on pretty much all the time.

With all this said, when I attempted Atziri, I didn't have a lot of this gear. Filler gloves (Aurseize), filler ring (Life+Res), a worse dagger and different boots/belt as well. I was also a few levels lower and I have done some respeccing and optimization of tree since then. Saved a few points here and there by connecting through better places and also respecced out of Phase Acrobatics so I can try out EE (still haven't run a map with it as I just leveled up to grab it).
I expect the fight against Atziri to be significantly easier now, but the problem when I tried it was I was getting 1-shot by Storm Call as I only have 75 lightning res. Maybe not using RF for her so I can use Saffell's and Purity of Light in place of Vitality would do the trick, though I suspect I might not need to anymore.

Why not go for situational RF rather than permanent? If you want to not get 1-shot by atziri's storm calls you would want to run saffel's, level 20 purity of lightning and athleticism+inner force for +1 max res. With life leech and smart potting you should be able to maintain it during tough fights.
I'm going for something similar to your setup but I still need to level the gems (purities especially) before I test it on atziri.

Build looks awesome, two questions though. What do you think of using this dagger
and can you do a build with a ranger?
Does Phase Acrobatics work with reflect?

Also, how important are the buff nodes? like Inner Force?

Having Herald of Ice on gives you bonus cold damage to your Discharge as well which essentially means everything you hit will forever be cold resistant and never interchange between cold/lighting weakness. In my eyes that kindof diminishes the usefulness of Herald of Ice greatly since the damage it produces is always against resistant monsters. I'd much rather have the free fire resists and extra max fire res that purity of fire provides.

In the end it's a bit of a preference based decision though. If you feel Herald of Ice is stronger and more worth using then go for it because purity of fire isn't one of the essential things about the build, simply a bonus.

True that it gets diminished by resistances, but it's still a bonus to damage and it often kills those enemies you didn't manage to kill with one shot, essentially increasing your clear speed, I'm running ruby flask anyway so fire res won't benefit me that much. But of course, it's all up to preferences. You're right though, it's not 100% optimal for this build particularly.

Anyways, we'll be getting Herald of Lightning in the next patch which will probably fit the build better, at least I'm excited to see how it works with this build :)

if i have in my dagger spell dmg, attack speed and fire res, what should i add as a mod A or B?

A) Inc. Global Crit. Strike Multiplier / Inc. Global Crit. Strike Chance? (for more DPS)

B) 1% of ligh. dmg leeched as life (for more survival against ELEM.REFLECT) because i ALWAYS die with ELEM. REFLECT.

HP 3591 / 7934 EV (86-80-85) Grace+Purity Ligh.+Purity Fire

First off, you can both of either A and B. You can try and yolo exalt your dagger for option A, and use the Master Catarina for Option B.

In terms of which to choose for option A, definitely Increased Critical Strike Chance. There's alot as to why you would choose that I won't go any further.

The lightning leech will not save you from dying from reflect, the leech is too small the counteract the damage reflected (this is experience from playing). Just pop a Topaz flask when encountering an Elemental Reflect pack and 9/10 you should be fine. A whole different case when playing a Reflect Mod on a map, you need Vaal Pact and a Life Leech gem.

Neither Ele Weakness or Assassin's Mark will help you for survivability, though it can be argued that Assassin's Mark help with your crit if it's low therefore helping you kill faster. You with need the CWDT+Increased Duration+Immortal Call+Enduring Cry combo if you have problems surviving. That and more life, that is all the advice I can offer. Hope this helps.
