2.3 Fakener (budget fake Mjölner) build - Trickster Version

I really can't give a meaningful answer as I've never had a Mjolner or played any of the builds but I struggle to imagine a build getting much stronger than this so take that for what you will.

It can't compare, GMP lightning strike with mjolner's Chain hits so many times more than cyclone could dream of, also being a ranged ability with a proc rate that isn't even feasible with crit, all rolled into an investment of 412 str(which is giving you raw life anyways + damage with iron will) and 300 int it's a joke of an item. With perfect gear because you're expending your power charges constantly the amount of spells cast within the span of a minute won't come close, even with so much crit in nodes/gear, whereas you're free to spend those on more life/block/armour using mjolner.

I just don't see how you can get faster or better than killing everything instantly while running with a adrenaline flask on spinning through it without stopping. Stopping to cast lightning strikes is just plain slower. Proccing more or less isn't an issue because I blow up every pack instantly and the toughest bosses fall within seconds too.

I've seen people play Mjolner specs and rainbownuke and it doesn't look any better to me. I'll reserve my judgement of which would ultimately be better until I try it myself but that's my opinion from the outside looking in.

Uploading a video now of my ideal setup on standard, should be up in 2-3 hours. I edited the OP with the gear I'm wearing on that char. Comes in at around 80-100ex worth, about the cost of a Shavs.

Mathil can you make you vision of passive tree for HC league? i die today from exile with minion instability i blow up to many zombies:) i was lvl 73 on beyond and played with 56 attack block and 63 spell block and was super fun. I want only know your idea of hc tree of this build. and one more question Is 6th powercharge so important or i can lose him in my beyond tree?

The main draw of Mjolner is that you can easy build 6k life and max block and spell block.

Would vaal pact be worth it? With the huge ammount of lightning damage beeing dished out and the lightning leech it seems like a good way to go.

It would be sweet to able to craft a viable dagger with vagan's "hits can't be evaded" mod. Does he ever sell daggers with a high enough ilvl?

Guys take a look at this what you think about this changes for Voll's devotion.

I can't make a passive tree for HC. I don't play HC and don't know what it would require you to feel safe all the time. Your tree looks ok but lvl 95 or so is a pretty rough goal.
You don't need 6 power charges, no. It's just worth taking if you are near by. Don't travel to the witch tree in any of your passive setups because you lose too much by going there and don't gain enough back.

I'm not sure you'll get enough from just 2% lightning leech. With a LL gem in place of something else it can be a good option.

Those who do not have enough life leech, could try CWDT warlord's mark, it also grants endurance charges from time to time, working pretty well for me.

OP, have you tried herald of ice with this? I'm using it currently instead of Ice Nova and I think it's way better, it adds cold damage to your cyclone + some nice damage on shatter, which happens surprisingly often (it has great AoE too and works as a sort of a culling strike), and you can get something like Increased AoE instead of Nova on voll's. I'd swap purity of fire for it and get some fire res on gear instead. It also adds some "oomph" feeling that I feel Ice Nova lacks :)

Also, if you happen to struggle with elemental reflect mobs, I suggest getting GGGG dex gloves with CoC + Spectral Throw + GMP + Ethereal Knives, it's not as powerful as cyclone + discharge obviously but it prevents you from instagibbing yourself. If you don't have enough mana to spam Spectral, I suggest using Vaal Clarity.
