" Why would you do that? Shadows and Dust are way worse against Bosses and the required dps for Maps is very easy to optain. |

Which ascendancy should I go if I want to transition into TS drillneck? Right now I'm deadeye with Ricochet(+1 chain).

this build swaps so well for physical reflect, the LA with PTL and WED and the free chain from deadeye actually boosts your clear speed depending on the rest of your gear
wish i could say the same for ele reflect though, such a huge DPS loss losing hatred/herald of ice and WED/PTL on the tornado shot |

For ele reflect get haste instead of hatred, and swap la into tornado, chain into fa or ppad and ptl into increased crit chance and wed into iron grip
vs bossess frenzy + ballista - however im darkray raider with 9 charges so that helps frenzy to be similar to blast rain dps wise For phys reflect la and ptl for aoe and blast rain + ptl(instead conc effect) vs single target Thats the power of this build, you can easily run unidentified maps and swap gems accordingly to what you see, socket color are same. So, I have been running this using a +5% Shrapnel Shot as my main attack. I am currently in Act IV of Normal, and I am a 43 ranger. I am curious if you think shrapnel shot scales well enough to keep using or should I replace it before I get too attached? It is pretty nice having the arrows always pierce.
Also, a second question. I am inexperience at the higher level difficulty play. Before they added Act IV, I think I made it to Merciless Act I and always screwed my build up. How do you tell when an items passives are outclassed by another items just raw damage; and vice versa? Or is this just test it out and see? For example, I am currently using a Roth's Reach bow. 5 sockets, only 3 are linked. Stats, cause I couldn't figure out how to properly link mine. (60 to 80)% increased Physical Damage (20 to 40)% increased Elemental Damage with Weapons (4 to 8)% increased Attack Speed Skills Chain +1 times 30% increased Projectile Speed Low damage but the passives are crazy. At 43 should I be looking for a 4-5 link Yellow bow, with 100+ damage? I know this is probably a question that has an answer close to YMMV, but this is where my naivety comes into play. yeah, its pretty great. " is the skill description. the blue text is then: attack with this skill when you hit. fires 10 arrows in a spiral. 100% chance of projectiles piercing my base attack damage with hatred is, 144-352cold, 26-410 lightning damage, 330-833 phys. edict of fury's list damage is: 303-740 cold, 402-1016 fire, 54-861 lightning, 346-875 phys. Which means it has a 110% damage multiplier. (or 210% of base damage.) making use of this. well, its 100% pierce. that might impact your choice. it DOES apply on hit effects for attacks. for example, mine does actually say "3 life gained for each enemy hit" as well, since I have 3 life gained on enemy hit on attack on my quiver. it converts to fire. about 50% I think, then I have some weapon ele damage on belt, rings making the discrepancy. it gets 210% of base damage, but has a 5s cooldown. raw damage/crit have value, attack speed does not for it. total value. yeah. nice little burst on start. I have 3.62a/s 18attacks over 5s. at just over the value of 2 attacks, this is then 11% of my damage. err. no thats silly. 11% of base attack value. not the supported attacks, getting ppad, wed, FA, or shotgunning of TA. uh, will check that later. So my TS has 3.82a/s, and 697-2087 total damage 4link. 19.1 attacks/5s. 1740.5/hit x19.1 hits= 33,243damage over5s. (shotgun x3 average= 99,730 over 5s.) edict of fury is 1105-3492 total damage. 2851 av. 2.8% of the 99,730 average shotgun over that time. slightly more with less shotgunning, or frenzy, slightly less with more shotgunning, and more links on the TS.
