Herald of Ash

Are you dealing at least 100 Base Cold Damage? I had to level up that Flame Surge a couple times to get a visible increase to its Damage; 1% is not much! :P

HoA is too flashy for my taste. In my opinion slightly less intense graphical effect would be better. Also if using 1H and shield make it appear only on hand with weapon, looks realy bad with shields.
Does Herald of Ash work wiht EK (Ethereal Knives)? EK is a spell but has phy dmg.
Adds fire dmg. But does not produce ignites (not an attack). Works with bear trap too.

(3) 1k overall ignite damage, applied as 250 burning damage per second?
These (assuming a level 1 HoA, and thus 100% of overkill dealt as ignite, rather than some other number.

For the record, it doesn't. A buff or debuff has value(s) and a duration - the two cannot depend on each other. There's no way for the game to do 2 except as 3.
I other words, ignite duration should increase damage.
Damn, I thought that burning was 33% dmg /s over 4 seconds.
That's certainly still what it says in the wiki.
So Herald doesn't actually ignite as if the overkill damage was a hit that causes burning, but directly ignites for the overkill damage?

Isn't a "no" better than an ignore?

default burn damage is now 20% over 4 sec.
Herald does the later of your question, replacing that base damage for the normal rate.
Damn, I never knew.
That explains why burns are so underwhelming.

Sorry not 20% over 4 sec. 20% per sec for 4 sec is the base ignite burn damage. Then this skill replaces that 20%/sec with overkillvalue/4 then duration boosts and burn boosts happen after.
