[1.1.5]PewPewPews Cheap Starter Friendly Surge Trapper | Working on 1.3!

Currently trying out this, insanely good with not much items.
The only issue i have with this is running out of both traps for a few seconds.
Also is there any replacement for vaal lightening strike? I prefer not to use it.

And I declare this build... Finished!

The only thing that remains is making the banner, a card for my official build topic, but I can't be arsed to do it right away. Far too hot in here to do so.

@Trucilent: I usually run out of traps whenever I am throwing them too fast. Since burn is a large portion of your damage, sometimes it's better not to spam your traps as soon as they are up, but sometimes wait a little bit before doing so.

You could swap out Vaal Lightning Trap(it's Trap, not Strike!)For a Quality(!)Arc or Shock nova. If you want those in a trap as well, you need to remove the culling setup, and link either Arc or Shock nova with Elemental proliferation, on top of the trap gem. Last gem can be anything else depending on the gem.

So i have been theorycrafting but i'm not experienced enough yet.
Would a dual surge totem + fire/surge trapper work?
The purpose of dual surge totems is to help with the single target dps, mostly with bosses.
Starts at templar and gets the important totem nodes, then go the usual surge trapper path, losing a bit of trap dmg.

you sacrifice the iir/culling setup for 4l surge/spell totem/flame penetration/increased aoe, but i don't know if dual surge totems do more dmg than just going regular surge trapper.
the build also loses the desecrate/devouring totem setup but i think it's replaceable.
just a strange idea i had, thanks for the tip btw
Unless we put a lot of points in our totems, they die and lack damage. It's either that, or we will lose a lot of life in the current tree.

Hmm... This might work, but there is a good chance you will lack damage late game, or need levelled gems before the damage really starts to pick up.I am personally not too hyped on using totems, since it also requires you to stand still for a bit while casting(totems generally have a long cast time). But if you really like the idea, you could give it a try :)

Another great guide of yours.

Thanks a ton. I will definitely try this as soon as the new leagues start.

I tweaked the tree a little and this is what I'm going to use. What do you think? :

It's a 116 point tree, going to be hard to get all those points. There aren't many who will hit that level. You're losing on a few life nodes as well, something I personally wouldn't recommend. Every 8% life point adds over 100 life with some decent gear set up, meaning you'll lose around 800 life that way, bringing you down to a 3.4K life or something. I find that just a bit too low to do those higher maps :)

I been messing around with conversion trap a bit since it also converts the rares what i usually do is conversion trap.... they attack there dudes around them also giving me the auras sometimes and i throw my firetrap then surge so right when they turn back they go BOOOM and they have no chance.... that my only imput besides going from like 23 to 33 is nothing but int points so it little slow in that area but other then that pretty well off... there are a few nodes i picked up to help me survive one of them being that 16% to chaos node that you didn't include in your passive tree xD

This is the skill tree i went with and i'll tell you why.

I knew that i was going to be agile always moving around and what was hurting me the most was elemental damage so i went with more resistance then life because i felt like i had a good amount of life that could survive enough attacks that i would be able to move out of the way along with my conversion trap that i put out there with my boots instead of adding that support gem that incrases area effect i went with that. i try to go armor/es to fully benefit from my passive but if you could put your input into this that would be awesome!
