Dominion's Hardcore Dual-Spark CI Witch - UPDATED for 1.0.1

Hey Dominion, thanks so much for posting this guide. I am trying it out right now. Can you please check the link for your passives at level 70? It says you removed life nodes and got CI, but when I go to the link, it still shows the life nodes being used and no CI.
To fix the level 20 skill trees, remove the final "+" at the end of the URL, and it should load fine.

How do you manage the Dex requirement on these skill gems?
Just wondering, why use a 1H Mace? and how can you not find an update for the one you currently have.

The build is amazing, and I'm flying through content now I have dual spark totem, but I still fail to see how your main hand weapon is that good?

I have 2 50%+ Spell Damage with X-9X Lightning Damage Wands currently equipped, one with 15% Cast Speed the other with 13% Attack Speed

Could you possibly go through the reasoning as to why you have your 1H Mace? the Shield is amazing though by the way c:

The type of weapon does not really matter. It's all about the stats. If you look at the stats you will get why he is using it.

Lightning dmg on wands is only applied to the actual wand auto-attack, or power siphon.
Attack Speed does nothing for a caster.
@O4epegb - 4 Reasons: Fork has lower mana multiplier, Fork has a lower damage reduction multiplier, Spark moves psuedo-randomly - chain would react similarly to fork when it activated, and fork activates off single targets - chain requires a nearby target to activate the extra projectiles.

@touchofdead -

Witch base dex: 14
2x 30 nodes: 60
Onyx amulet: 20
Gloves: 27
Perandus Belt: 30
Total: 151

Dex requirement on level 20 bear trap is exactly 151

Was looking for ideas to reroll after i died the other day, dual totem spec seemed like a good fit for me since I play mostly solo and wanted to be capable of running maps without putting tons of effort into gearing up. So i went with a build very similar to your's, just changed a few things that didn't make sense to me (and considering changing a few more). Just wanted to get your thoughts behind them.

Why no doom cast? 60% crit gives a solid dps boost for 1 point (and more shocks). Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Is going into the templar tree really the best option? I plan to take nimbleness (10% cast speed for 3 points) and maybe the shield nodes near elemental equilibrium instead. Power charges are wasted unless you're partying with a conduit user, is that part of the reason you went that way?

Is elemental adaptation really worth the 3 pts? Not sure if i want to get it or not, learning towards no.

I'm thinking about putting the 4 points in near hex nodes to get +1 spectre and 30% minion health. Pretty unsure about this one.
My char is on default league (lvl 76) and I followed a somewhat similar pattern. I also went for dual totem and perma curses though 'regretted' my way out of both.

Present build is here>

Currently I am trying to get shock chances (10 + 10 + 5) and plan to use shock through added lightening dmh with Frozen pulse. Idea is to use faster casting and take down 'shocked' mobs by doing extra dmg. FP has a huge range so it might work.

Witch is pretty solid can solo maps but the gamplay has become boring/ repetitive.

[Edit: Why did you go for CI? You can get chaos easily enough and insta heal is a good way of keeping alive in HC]

You literally have no survivability. You have a very few number of health nodes and you didn't decide to go CI. I'm not sure how you stay alive.

@schwahzz - I'll take doom cast later. Right now, I shock with static blows, not with critical hits. When I get enough survivability to start speccing into crit chance/crit multiplier, I will take it - but until then, it isn't a priority.

I go into the templar tree because the body and soul nodes are fantastic for pure ES. Because of the armor bonus they give. I also need the strength nodes along the way to B&S.

Elemental adaptation is perhaps the single best node on the passive tree, perhaps only competing with inner force. If you are using purity, elemental adaptation reduces your damage taken from cold/fire/lightning by 25%.

Can't really speak for the efficacy of the spectre/minion life nodes near hex master. I contemplated it for a while, but ultimately I only use minions as a meat shield (a job that they perform satisfactorily as is). Since the minions aren't being used for damage, I really don't need that many of them. The totems kill quickly enough that I usually only need to resummon a few zombies per map.

@Sedqal - I go for CI for several reasons. It suits double totem play very well. I'm not usually being targetted, which means I have plenty of time out of the fray to regenerate if I do take damage. CI also helps with itemization. My passive tree gives me a large amount of resistances. By removing the need for elemental resistances, chaos resistances, and life; it becomes much easier to get suitable High-ES equipment. (Life is a prefix. By needing to itemize for life, ES is reduced by an equal amount. Going life would simply mean I need to deal with chaos damage for absolutely no benefit).
