does quality on added fire damage gem matter?

So what was the reason that made you pick CI?

Thanks for taking the time to not only post the build, but also answer questions, Dom. I'm slowly planning to transition my 75 dual ice spear totems into this build.
Would love to hear everyones opinion on whether the dual spark thing is viable on a mid- to low-end computer. As things stand now, I sometimes get screen-freezing when in groups with a lot of spam and lightning arrow. Does anyone have any experiance with this build on a not fantastic computer? I do play default though so Im not THAT worried of dying now and then, however annoying it might be. Thanks in advance! |

As far as I know, PoE has some problems with ATI video cards. I am personally playing on rather bad computer (have around 40 fps in general) and ATI video card ). So main problem with ATI cards is frame drops, when certain skills are used (ice shot, burning grounds on cards, multiple fireballs, etc).
Sparks don't create additional lags for me and with all my screen in sparks and a lot of mobs I get around 30 fps, but with skills mentioned before I get like 5-7 fps))) So it's not only about your computer, but also about videocard you are using. And one more time, skills, which are used in this build do not create additional lag spikes on ATI cards, so I think if you are playing well with dual ice spear build you should be fine with double spork totem. So a couple of questions.
Did you switch your Flasks back to extra charges and faster recovery again? Did you try out chain and gmp instead of fork? If so, does the damage increase or is fork simply the best support gem you can use with spark? Because in the end its pretty much a bad chain isnt it? I would think that the only reason you dont use chain is because the room is full of spark projectiles anyway so it doesnt matter if you hit suff accurately, am I correct in assuming that this is the reason? |

" Thanks a ton. I'll let you know as of my results. :) A |

" This has already been answered. Fork is better than chain because the damage penalty and mana cost is lower. Spark is inherently an inaccurate spell, so the accuracy of chain does not apply to the same extent as with many other spells. LMP/GMP reduces damage of each projectile significantly. Note that the Spark totem already fires three projectiles, which makes these support gems worse than with other skills. Spark without LMP: 3x100% damage (300%) Spark with LMP: 5x70% damage (350%) Spark with GMP: 7x50% damage (350%) LMP and GMP only make sense if every single spark hits, and even then you would probably be better off with a damage increasing support instead. |
