Buying no defenses at all isn't glass cannon. If your defenses doesn't reasonably buy you enough time to sweep or escape trash your build is not good.

Except I did "buy enough defenses" [Removed by Support]. But then the game rubberbanded me 3 times because I walked a path that "didn't exist" serverside. I had the time to walk 3 different paths while my client was showing a gamestate that never existed, each time. And then AFTER ALL THIS BULLSHIT, I finally died.

I'm not dying because I didn't take enough defense nodes, I'm dying because the game shows bullshit on my screen that isn't what's happening on the server. And the difference between client and server is so much that there's no fucking making sense of it.

And there are still idiots here to make excuses for such a borked system, because "the economy".

See you in a couple years when nobody but extreme addicts give a fuck about this game anymore. It is going to get boring to play only range/caster or avoid using "wrong" skills or walking around the "wrong" way to not "upset" the game. I mean really. You are pigeonholed into playstyles because otherwise it "upsets" the game. PoE's tummy hurts. What a fucking joke.

To be somewhat snotty: I don't believe you.
Yes, about the defenses too.

Pretty much the only strongbox mod that's ever given me trouble is freezing and that's only because I was a goober and didn't ID a lot of boxes.

Conversion traps isn't "pigeon holing" as it's a minimal investment kind of skill I tend to use a lot during leveling anyway for safety and drop off the boat down the road.

Warp, Whirl and Leapslam are common movement skills that would've solved your problem and are anything but niche.

Decoy totems are also rather common for a lot of builds.

Seethings buy you a lot of grace time in desync as life pools don't appear to desync much or at all. So do granites. This is assuming you refuse to take a single skill or quartz flask in a League specifically dedicated to strongboxes that would've made your life a thousand times easier.

Yes logout macro is also rather gimpy, but it's pretty much a free debugging command that GGG gave you that you should be using. Although there are plenty of "legit" methods besides.

TL;DR: "Good" game design is where emergent gameplay doesn't exist; if you don't play in a way that makes the game happy you're doing it wrong.

D3 doesn't desync because it lacks hoards of monsters and doorways. If you gather enough enemies into a small space, it desyncs as well. You do have to force it though for the most part.

D3 also waits on the servers response before it lets anything happen. When RoS first came out the D3 servers were lagging like mad. It made it where anytime you went to move or use an ability there was a 1+ second delay before it would actually happen.
