FIRST POE COMMUNITY big project.
" Lol, yes of course. If you're aware of such transactions report it with proof and watch the streamer get banned. " If GGG ever let development effort to be compensated by in-game currency, I would seriously exploit it shitless. Ignarsoll's Specially Tailored PoE Related Development House Inc. " What's interesting here is that i am not the only one who is on the other side of the trade. It's 1(or several price checkers) vs all poe community. " Agreed. @Michael: Can you guys discuss this internally? No one is going to be hurt by this trade. It's just like when Kripparian adv the game and gets the ability to ask direclty Chris about a game mechanic. By doing so, he can confirm whether his build is going to rock or not, and he gets a slight edge. I am thinking of.. the greater good. " I believe this is discussed internally as I contacted support and said that I would be highly interested in such thing if it isn't against rules as it would be extremely efficient regarding time spent vs item aquisition. If everyone is ok for me to get legacy kaom and mirror of kalandra for my external development efforts, I'm willing to partake, let's do it. " So you are the one who is lobbying? Classy. It's not about your external development efforts, it is about your internal gaming/trading long analysis. Once we get those informations, i am sure you or kaaaayyver or niluge or others will gladly make a website/Tool FOR FREE. But first we want to get that tremendous effort of analysing market( = playing poe) done. Where is PeterLock? And others? In case you don't get it: 1. Trading my mirror+kaoms (i invite all of you to offer your stuff) FOR an IN GAME SKILL/KNOWLEDGE.(No RMT) 2. The website or tool will be made by anyone who wants to do it for free.(No RMT) I invite you to wait until 1 is done, that moment you will be able to do 2 for free as you have always done;). " Since when asking for official opinion considered lobbying? internal gaming/trading long analysis; this is really ambiguous I would like to hear how this will happen. There isn't any absolute truth, opinions may differ. How will such data can be compiled? No longer a forum dweller, please use PM for contact purposes. A general guide about pricing items is ok.
A definitive price value on items is not good. <3 Free Tibet <3

I shall explain why this cannot, should not and probably will not be done. Ignoring the fact that "the project" infringes on the rules set by GGG.
Definite price guides are harmful to an in game economy. This is easily seen on private servers on any game. Let us take a Runescape private server for example. Usually, these private servers have price guides made by the community. These price guides are often made using prices players suggest and maintained and adjusted a bit as things change. However, these prices end up being the meta game. Meaning no player will buy or sell said items out of those prices ever, and so the economy ends up being focused around the popular/rare items as a result of this, and everything else stops maintaining value (this includes the currency it is used to purchase said item such as gold.) PoE is a bit too complex in this regard. There isn't gold at all but instead, several 'crafting' materials players themselves labelled as currency. This means not only do you have to give value to individual MODS (which again enforces meta and disgusting value on items rather than what is used to buy said items) but you also have to give the actual currency values. Then we have to adjust for leagues. Every few months, more currency and items are dumped into standard and hardcore, meaning prices at that point go all over the place and currency you will see at this point suffers from the exact thing a guide would make happen forever. The value of currency hits rock bottom, save for the utter best. (Exalts, Mirrors.) And common handy currencies (Chaos) will crash insanely in value to the point that they stop being an actual currency but instead turn into what their intended purpose was: crafting materials. Not to mention, every single item slot has values that they want and do not want, so you would have to make each slot have its own price for every value. For example, you normally do not want a rapier with 3 resistances. You want crit and physical rolls. TL;DR There are too many factors both currency wise and suffixs/affixs and item slots and flavour of the month builds and league dumps for a price guide to ever work or be realistically managed by even a decently large team of users. |
