If you go for Block and Life nodes before the big offensive nodes on the tree it's more viable than the version I ran in SC. I went straight for damage and picked up stray life nodes after I was done harvesting all the DPS.

To make it more viable you can drop Berserking to get Herbalism. Herbalism is actually something I'm really keen to add to the lvl 100 tree because of the flask effect. The new flasks is a great benefit for melee builds like this one.
