This game needs right-click driving

yeah its a hardcore clickfest, in the end my hand hurt from clicking too much, never happened in any other games and i played them all.
I'll chime in and mention that I absolutely *love* that I don't need to click *at all* during combat. Rapid-fire clicking or worse holding down a mouse button is horrible on the wrists and unplayable for me. Fortunately, they added the ability to assign qwerty slots to "move" and "regular fire". Thus I can use the mouse with one hand to target -- and use the keyboard hand to execute all move/fire commands. No clicks!

I'm sure this puts me at a disadvantage sacrificing two slots for move and regular attack , but it makes the game playable. If I had to click or hold a button on the mouse for every move / action -- I'd be unable to play.

Save your wrists, move with the keyboard.

Cross linking this thread with this one: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/9708/

While this thread is better named, the other has far more attention.
I don't mean to sound rude, but I can't help the way people interpret my words.
Gonna necro this thread as I did the other as it's been a full year without any change.

I still to this day suffer the issue of being unable to play a melee character that uses enemy targeted skills.

It's by intention, I'm sure. It would make the game very easy to bot or multibox.

I 100% agree. I think thisis one of the main reaons why marauder is the least played character. I know I will not play melee again until this is fixed.

Im pretty sure its mainly because they are missing skills and very underpowered at the moment lol....

No its not, it's becaues you will desynch every second mobpack when using meele. It's very fun to watch characters missing hits for 3secons with US keystone :-(

It was like that when i was playing cleaver in OB, and it's even multiple times worse now when i tried facebreaker Infernal Blow supported with multistrike, meelesplash.

That's other reason builds such as sporker and summoner are popular.
So did Legacy items naturally goes away as intended or they still core of standard economy 4 years later after they became "feature".

me too!

even tried ground slam on LMB, should work, except it's hard to reconfigure brain
probably if I slammed with LMB from the beginning it would have been better

RF, i'm coming for you!
Workaround that feels very smooth to me:

- bind shift to space bar
- use your main aoe on the LMB
- hold down LMB at all times
- hit space with your thumb to stop and attack, release to move on

-> no clicking required
-> you should use shift attack anyway to desync less

I realize Path of Exile will probably often involve a little more skill than just constantly hacking and slashing through things

It will not, you don't have to worry about that at all.

I do likewise with AoE or projectile skills (do still use shift) but unfortunately this doesn't work smoothly at all with single-target melee attacks. You'll often just end up hitting air unless you have a multi-strike gem and even then you'll be wasting a third of your attacks.

If they implemented an auto-target feature for shift-click melee attacks on in-range targets this could work fine, but as it is with desync and mobs rarely being exactly where they're shown combined with somewhat clunky melee hit-detection this isn't really viable in those scenarios.
