ReverendBizzarre: ele cleave templar [6k life, 45k+ dps]

Starting to get into some problems here. Im at the start of merciless and i do okay dps(about 2k) but my survivability has hit rock bottom. Just specced iron reflexes but it doesn't help much. My resists are pretty good and it shouldn't take too long to max them out on merc but im afraid im gonna lose my character soon or end up farming desperately for upgrades for a long time. How am i supposed to get more armor? Any tips?

Farm the Ledge and try to get a 4link piece, link a life leech to your cleave, this improves survivability a lot. Search for white 4links as well and alch them, you might get a decent rare, if you dont have any alchs just use alteration orbs on them until you get a god life mod and a resistance mod.

Go for the Leather and Steel nodes as you are in merciless already you can start traveling to them after you get the life nodes.

Also use a determination aura and use endurance charges for physical damage reduction, enduring cry works better than warlords mark, i suggest you use enfeeble curse for more survivability, or temporal chains instead of warlords mark.

Hey, VictorDoom, Im looking at ur shadow build, and i'm so excited to try it out, cuz its exactly what i've been trying to make. I had a similar build in mind, but just a lot less streamlined, with many more wasted nodes.
Anyways, I was wondering when do you go to the Ranger area for the nodes you put in? Do you go to the templar area first, and then the ranger area last?

Just found this beauty at the docks, sadly no resistance but the mana boost helps alot.

This must be the 4th time i'm watching that video. the sexiness is beyond compare.
but daamnn... you had 1K energy shield. i think we can kinda make something similar, but it'll never be as good ever again :( Well imma start working on it today. i'll post my findings here if you dont mind.

Also, what chances in OB nerfed the build, besides that huge hit to CI?

Great guide, Vic. My duelist is in act 2 merciless at lvl 55 and is looking pretty strong. My question is, since I play solo without doing any trading is there any way to get a reduced mana gem reliably without levelling up a marauder or templar?

So I've made it to 78 and You were right vic part of it is just learning the play style, you can go pretty man mode but you need to learn when to back down a bit too.

Running with groups really helps I don't see this as a roll face solo char on maps as any melee has trouble controlling super huge crowds. Although convert traps do help with that a good deal in some situations. Enfeeble also helps alot to cut enemy dps I almost always use it over ele weakness.

I still could use some better gear but for the <10 exalt investment i've made (5 of it being wakes) I'd say this is a damn good char.


so far with all auras: I've got 10.2k dps -- around 7k armor -- 80 fire / 55 cold / 78 light res / 3500 life with wakes on.

The 10k dps is really nice since that is single target AND aoe dps of course

Things to watch for :

blackguard groups that all shield charge at once and rhoa packs that all charge at once since you get stunned for a bit with each charge and they do massive damage.

Vulnerability curse: this really sucks for melee and I always back up until it goes away unless very few enemies around. The prime example of this is huge groups of squid will constantly curse/ with vulnerability and freeze you so it makes surviving hard some times but you learn how to fight through it.

My gear isn't the best but isn't expensive either for anyone that is thinking about this build i am managing with this stuff.



also here is my passive tree now vic, I have access to one more health node that I am connected to ATM. I have 3500 life without everything having life on it, would you say I can probably start grabbing the 6 ele dmg nodes I am connected to or keep trying to get more health like on the right side?
