ReverendBizzarre: ele cleave templar [6k life, 45k+ dps]

Bump for awesome build. I was struggling with krips wand build before because of the lack of dps, now I have 883 dps on my lvl 33 templar

How do you feel about going for Inner Force? How important are the 10% Weapon Elemental Damage nodes in the center of the tree and the ones near Iron Reflexes? How do you feel about forgoing the increased AoE talents near Witch? How do you feel about going over to Shadow for the 2 attack speed nodes + 2 12% life set of nodes + the 18% mana node?

Thanks in advance.

the witch aoe will be taken in the next levels as will inner force!

If i were to go in the shadow starting area i would lose life points for not too much dps, so i do not belive it is worth it.
But of course you dont HAVE to do what i do, im sure that if you go to the shadow starting area you will do ok anyway!

This build originated from my CI shadow, but unfortunately when i converted it to life i had to lose quite a lot of attack speed and light damage because i couldn't get enough life from the shadow area.

Do you think that this variation that I came up with would be successful in hardcore?

I thought that getting Soul Siphon to allow me to drop Mana Leech would be nice, also the tree near duelist start looks pretty nice (12% Block, a bunch of armor/evasion and some life, although I dropped body and soul for those.) My only concern is how important is Resolute Technique to the build? Do you think I would one shot myself with this build if I crit?

and yes, soul siphon is good for HC, you can use LL instead of mana leech, life leech on this build with decent weapons will provide insane life regeneration, you will be VERY hard to kill.

you wont 1 shot yourself, but you wont have enough accuracy to hit properly in the endgame without RT.

I suggest you just follow my build and spec out some points to get soul siphon (points like body and soul for example)

Hi Victor,

first of all, thanks for your work bringing us these guides.
I try to make it short. Do you think this is a build that is casual-friendly? When i look at your gear, its highly specialized and highly specialized always means a lot of farming time to get either the currency or the exact gear. Also it makes a lot of items more or less useless. So to sum this up, a casual gamer like me, that grps up sometimes but simply doesnt have the time to farm ilvl-xx gear then alt and regal and exalt the gear to get viable gear, will i stand a chance with that kind of gaming and this build?
I'm asking because i went with your guide for the phys-ranger and merciless is just a pain in the ass - I'm kiting like crazy still get 3-4 shottet by elites and my dmg seems really shitty. My maxdps with frenzy (7 charges) is 1,2k buffed/infight; 9k armor ; 1,5k HP ; ~60 all res. So i think if i would have really highly specialized phys-dmg gear, it would definetly look different. So to sum this up: would you compare your physranger build with this templar build or is the templar build more "newbie-friendly"

Thank you for your time and the effort!

The physical ranger is probably not a good idea to start your first char, its hard to get the proper gear for it and necessary links, it is quite gear dependent, needs loads of leech, life, res and crit chance+phys on gear.

This one would be more newbie friendly, you dont need amazing gear you can handle mobs on a 4link piece, you just need armor, eva or ar/eva hybrid gear that has life and resistance, you need elemental damage axes or swords with decent attack speed and.. thats about it basically.

Shouldn't be hard to start fresh with this build, its not very gear dependent.

since this build has tons of hp, didn't you consider using blood magic to support anger/wrath/grace ? that way you could use 3 40% reservation auras on your mana pool, or any other auras you might want.

No reason to do that to be honest, you dont need that many auras, and the mana pool can easily reserve 4 auras.

Updated my gear, i now use a 6l, the 6th link is life leech, which makes me be on full life most of the time because of the big damage of the build, it is quite the tank now, you can do basically the same thing if you just use soul siphon passive that grants mana on kill with less links.

Is it viable to replace the witch aoe passives and the int passives on the way to them with soul siphon? Or is the AoE that important? What other passives are fine to be replaced?

This would be it basically, swapping out the AoE and one life node for inner force and soul siphon. I'm not sure how important the AoE is though, more than the second body and soul ring?

The second AoE is not all that important, you can relax, take the soul siphon
