Not sure why you are using multistrike. It's one of the worst gems you can use for ele cleave. you just messed up all your shocking for silly multiple attacks. FA is way better than multistrike. this isnt phys cleave.

Since it reduces the damage of individual hits, it reduces the duration of shocks applied. At first blush you might think "that's okay, it shocks more often, so that makes up for it." But there's a problem: Shocks have a minimum duration (300ms) below which the target simply doesn't get shocked, period. So you've actually reduced (possibly quite dramatically) the percentage of your hits that result in shocks - particularly against the targets that need shocking the most, rares and bosses.

As for damage output, multistrike is a ~32% damage increase for elemental cleave. Certainly not bad, but the other options (faster attacks, concentrated effect) are better.

none at all.

I've been trying out this build and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I'm level 65 and my dps is only 4k. Also my damage reduction is low, but that's probably because I don't have IR yet. Life is 3k, all resists are 75% and I'm able to run 5 auras. Will a 5L cleave with concentrated effect or faster attacks significantly increase my dps? Also, am I on the right track or do I need to change anything?

Do you think it's good to pick Vaal Pact later?

I think it would be pretty insane with the damage you deal and you could use more utility pots

I'm using Vaal pact and I think its very useful.

But I think you only should take the Vaal pact node under certain conditions.

1.) You deal 20+ dps
2.) You use whirling blades as your main source of movement (or else ranged mobs can destroy you before you even get close to them)
3.) You either have an AOE gem linked to cleave or you take some AOE nodes (I took the 4 nodes giving me 20% AOE). This way, it is possible to cleave from a distance and leech life, which is more important than I once thought.
3.) This isn't a necessary condition, but Vaal pact is more useful if your lifepool isn't too high.
