Watched your new map video - very very cool. So I notice that .... like nothing hits you! I have made it to 29 on this build - and obviously my gear and skills don't give me enough evasion to keep from getting hit yet.

When I am on my ranger with your Poison Arrow build, it is easy to stay alive since I can drop a poison cloud and then move. On this build I am finding it harder to stay alive, especially against larger "bosses" at the end of quests or when fighting large crowds, since I have to stay where they can hit me to keep firing at them.

Any tips for survivability at lower levels in this build? Overall...it's still really fun!

At level 19 you can start using Temporal Chains. It's a curse that slows enemies down so it's easier to run around without them hitting you. It's a good curse to use for a while. Also - for single targets that are dangerous to you, try Puncture instead of Frenzy or Burning Arrow you are mostly likely using. It does a lot of damage for any mob moving. One hit has a 5 second duration, so you don't need to stand there and keep shooting. Combined, these two things should help you a ton as you get your defenses set up. Lastly, keep you life potions up to date and always be sure you are running two of them so you can alternate and have 4 uses.

Congrats on 93! Are you going to try Apex with this build too or does Poison work better?

Well - I decided to use this build to take a crack at Atziri, but instead of running around the whole time like in my other build, just seeing if I could use potions and primarily face tank and leech through most of it. Especially on the 4x screen its hard to dodge - much easier when shes in solo form. But with Frenzy - I also have to take time to stop and shoot.

Depending on your perspective, it either worked really well, or horribly. I killed her - but it took me every last portal. I died once on the Guardians before her - and then used every last portal on her.

Obviously this wins no style awards or cool points, and I have a lot of improvement needed in the fight. I am going to try it with Puncture and moving and see if it works better. Regardless, and I know other people have beaten her more easily - but am happy with the kill regardless while also knowing I need to make it much smoother.

Nice, dude! I think we're going to give it a go as soon as Sellia and I finish off our level. Did you use the setup in your first post? I'm debating switching to standard supports and Lioneye's for LGoH/Leech.

Edit: Just saw the video. She doesn't seem to move very much. Do you think it's enough to Puncture? Any idea if permanent curses work on her? Seems like the old Temporal Chains + Enfeeble and then curse removal flask would make the Flameblasts a non-issue. And which clone is the easiest for you to kill?

My only death on this one was getting to the 4x stage with flasks down, so I tried to stay put and leech through anyway and failed. With no charges I probably should have hit and run.

Yes - she does not move much. So puncture will kill her, but slowly. SO you will have lots of running and dodging to do as puncture doesn't leech very well due to low base DPS which is very hard during the 4x Atziri stage.

For the 4 Atziris - I just stop at the first one not holding a shield and hit all my potions while attacking. I outleech the damage with potions buffs up.

Any advice on the rest of the dungeon? I've seen videos but most are of "hulk smash" RMT-ers with no sense of strategy at all. You're more realistically geared. Is the Vaal fight comparable to rolling double bosses on Maze?

Yeah it's not much different, except you wanna try and damage them both, because when only one is alive he beasts. And they is also cast pretty powerful lighting balls - think Piety with GMP.

I used Puncture for the Vaals. They summon Adds. So I would tag each with a puncture, which has an 8 sec duration, run in a circle using Split Arrow on everything to heal myself, reapply puncture when needed, and use a lightning potion if I was gonna take a lightning ball hit.

I also used Puncture for the Guardians, and it basically makes that fight a joke ala Courtyard bosses. I take down the RoA chick first, since her white clones are of no threat to me being ranged. Then Double Striker, and the Cycloner last. Just don't get caught in a corner. Fight takes less than a minute.
