[1.2] Sidra's Guide: Acrobatics Based Physical Crit Split Arrow Ranger (Atziri Kill Video Inside)
I'd go to the right and grab Mind Drinker first getting the HP too but ignoring the crit nodes til a bit later.

Why not added fire or added lightning or something in split arrow link?

Because there's no room for them.

There is no way Life Gain on Hit comes out - it's pivotal for the build.

" I have actually just experimented with Thief's Torment, and this has led to an amusing discovery. Granted you sac life on 2 pieces, but in return you get unlimited mana and a free gem slot by dropping LoH on split arrow. Quantity/curse reduction is just a handy bonus (temp chains SUCKS). Since LoH drops from 50 to 30, it's almost required to use the immortal call on CWDT to handle surprise burst, but that's fine. As long as you can still cap your res (expensive but doable), I think I might stick with it. Added fire adds a sick damage bonus to split arrow. Edit: Using this in softcore is the only reason it's ok to sac the 500 hp, also I'm not using maligaro to make up for one of them. +1, it's mandatory on any bow build using split arrow or lightning arrow.
edit: except for lucky users of thief torment ;) Ranger builds list: /917964 When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? I have never considered Thief's Torment. You have me intrigued.
Hmm - just to test I took off both of my rings and stuck on a white Prismatic ring. With the flat physical damage from my rings removed, my Split Arrow with added Fire goes up about 2k DPS which is great, but it also drops my Frenzy by 4k from 56k down to 52k due to the loss of ring damage. This build is a boss killer build - I don't really like the idea of dropping Frenzy DPS at all. But I then have 99% fire resist and 23% Lightning Resist I'd have to make up over the rest of my gear - that' a ton, and I don't think at all feasible. I'd also be down 2 life rolls, although I would also get 4 nodes back on my tree. But it's also a 40% drop in LGOH effectiveness. Eh. Overall, I think it would be a net loss for me. Which sucks, I think the drawback on that ring is just too big. With no life and nothing to increase DPS I tend to think it would be fine without the no other ring requirement. But it is nice for it's simplicity - it literally is 100% all that would be needed for mana independence no other investment would be need to be made anywhere, except still Mind Drinker for single target. " 1. Can someone explain why life gain on hit is mandatory for split arrow? Why can't we just use physical damage leech found on amulets, gloves and rings? What am i missing here? Why is lgoh needed? 2. Also if someone kind enough could take a look at my items and tell me what i should improve to do more damage? I'm doing pretty low damage at lvl 81.

Sure, I will start with helping your DPS some. Your rings/ammy/quiver - there is nothing wrong with them, but none of them has a flat + physical damage roll. So that's 4 slots that could be adding to your base damage that's giving you 0. This is the first stat I look for on anything that contains it, as it gets the benefit of all other DPS selections (Attack Speed > Phy% > Crit Chance/Multi). And is important as it is for me, it's more important for you because the LG hits so fast.
To give you an example, at one point I had 2 rings, one with 9-14 phys damage, and the other was a diamond with 30% crit chance. Removing the one with physical damage dropped my DPS twice as much as when I dropped the diamond ring. So for you, that's where I'd start to look. Also, on your tree - I'd prioritze the Deadly Draw half of the circle over the Heavy Draw, although at 81 you could just go get it now. For Life Gain on Hit, it's probably not necessary if you play the game on easy mode. Blue Maps, more grouping than solo, skipping a lot of bosses etc. You could get away with just some life leech if that's the case. But this build is made for hard mode - difficult mods, solo usually, boss killing. Now...LGOH. Split Arrow has 6 Arrows Chaining 2 times - 18 "hits" at 50 damage per hit - 900 HP healed per attack (assuming shooting into a pack). At around 3 atacks per second you could conceivably heal 2700 per second. Life Leech caps at 20% of max HP, so 1k per second if you have 5k HP. HOw much healing would you rather have? But it's also instant - and combined with some leech on gear you can fill your HP extremely quickly. There are sooooo many boss encounters where I literally leave the adds alive on purpose while single targeting the boss so that when I take a big hit, I toss 2 a volley or two into the adds so I am full and then back to business. LGOH is a must because there are a lot of encounters that are a much more risky if you don't have it. My Phys Crit Split Arrow Ranger Guide: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/919885
