1.3 Blitz Diarrhea | Static Strike | Feb 3. Major Update!

Hi, I'll try to answer your questions in the best way possible.

1. Physical and elemental nodes give you exactly the same bonuses in this build. But, physical clusters usually have higher % values then elemental ones. Let's take a look at the new tree, the Skull Cracking cluster, 4 passives and 64% increased dmg. There's no elemental cluster on the right side of the tree that will give you that much damage with that little passives.
2. This build utilizes a very specific sceptre which is Doryani's Catalyst. Why? Because of the damage calculation order which is physical > elemental > chaos. So, after your physical damage gets calculated (together with Herald and Hatred) all of it gets converted to elemental. And then 100% of your damage which is now all fire gets multiplied by 2 since Doryani's increases your elemental damage by 100%.
3. It depends if you're playing 1h/shield (which is probably gonna get rekt after 1.3) or dual-wield. 1h/shield is mostly very tanky and deals decent damage if you solo (20-25k) while dual-wield is less tanky and deals much more dmg (45-50k). Armor nodes are only taken if they're on the way to some other nodes.
4. Because of a better access to crucial physical nodes. Going Templar we'd end up with much less life and damage. Not to mention that the keystones like Iron Reflexes or Point Blank would be much harder to get.

Molten Strike with LMP would be only good for a burning build.

This was very helpful, thanks for responding. Regarding #2, you are saying everything gets converted to elemental because of Avatar of Fire, right? Also, why wait so long to pick up AoF? Your 30-60 tree builds right up to it but doesn't take it. How come?
Molten Strike converts 50% of your physical damage to fire, AoF converts the other 50%. I recommend to wait with AoF till you can get Doryani's Catalyst, otherwise you'd have no life leech.

All passive trees are updated for 1.3?
Why use item rarity with leap slam? it just affect that gem,and you will use molten to get kills not leap slam
Hello, beginner player here, my friend is starting this build and i have some questions. Btw he is running the dual wield version.

-why dual wield? Faster atks = more meatballs?
-why not get unwavering stance? U dont fear stun? No evade anyway...
-how viable will build be post1.3? My friend will be running with me most of the time, i am building a tanky shadow EK AAA build with clarity (so i can tank and give him mana)
-is the build expensive? We aint got no uniques, haha.
-is it boring to play? Just mash MS all day long?
-what money stats should he look for on levelling gear?

Thats all i can think of atm, thanks for reading. <3

PS: If u think the build is not suited for a beginner id love to hearsuggestions for an alternative build, duelist builds all seem to be dead atm =p

@turbopt: nope, the guide will be updated right after 1.3, there's too much of an unkown as of now.

@Yosh:
- DW: much more dps, from base DW features (pdmg and attck speed), much better DW nodes and incr ele dmg from 2nd Doryani's.
- Unwavering, it's just too far away + I've never really experienced any stun problems.
- Impossible to say without the patch notes.
- DW version? Depends on a league, in a sc challenge league I'd say you'll need around 10ex (double Doryani's with a solid roll = 3ex x 2 + a 5l belly which is another 1.5ex + 2.5ex on all other gear and mastercrafting).
- I didn't find it boring too play, but I can't guarantee you'll have fun all of the time, I don't know your build preferences.
- Check leveling guide in the OP.

Weißenberg and what about the other question? why use item rarity with leap slam, i think it fit beter with molten strike, cause its a support gem so only apply to leap slam which wont grant us the kills

Sorry, I must have overseen that question. It's only used for farming, you can link Leap Slam with Culling Strike and Item Rariry to cull bosses.

This may not be your area of expertise, but what would you/anyone suggest if I wanted to do a burn build using molten strike and herald of ash to prolif?

This build has that built in but it isn't the main focus. How could I make it the main focus? Do burn damage nodes work for instance or does only overkill damage matter?
