Only thing useful is its spell block but that is pretty huge.

The int implicit's not bad, since its a hard stat for us to get and we need it for a couple gems as well as gear req if you're using a sceptre (Doryani's). That said, of course you're going to want to Vaal into spell block or max resist if you can.

How much Shield block does one want to archieve (Softcore)?

With the amount of armour you can get on this build I personally wouldn't go too hard on it. But it is worth noting that because there's no diminishing returns, each additional percent of Shield Block you get is more and more effective.

Vaaling into Weapon Elemental Damage could also be an option.

Actually the biggest benefit of more block is more spell block. Lategame physical isn't going to be a problem for this build at all. Spells are. That's why I'm running 1h + high block shield (perandus now, lioneye's remorse when I hit 70, Aegis Aurora if I'm ever rich) with Lazhwar. Spell block is so strong.

ALSO! I just tested out Conc Effect (right after I got the Amplify node) and the spread reduction was hardly noticeable (very surprisingly). Definitely a top gem choice!

muahahahaha I have converted Dmillz to the dark side!! Join me and the rest of the Conc. Effect followers

p.s. no more talk about block/spell block because its making me want to convert and stop using this sexy 2h mace.

I will say this on it though. 1h/shield is totally not needed in merc3 or beginning maps so no need to rush the shield nodes if you wanted to go that way.

I'm seriously so surprised. I thought it would be way more noticeable. Can hardly see the difference and the damage it provides is insane (much better than fire pen as 5L)

Agreed! I have 0 shield nodes right now, they are very low on my priority list.

Ok, now that work is done... time to log in and maybe test Three Dragons? Unless someone has a set up that can do it for us and save me some coin and time. anyone? anyone? Beuller?

Vaal molten shell with this build is sort of fun to use.
I assume someone in here knows the answer.

Missing with the attack produces Projectiles. Does this mean that the Explosion (projectiles/AoE) always hits when it lands on a target ?

Since the molten balls are projectiles they can miss.

I assume this counts only for the non-spell projectiles ?
