It's an option, I guess, just not a very good one. It increases the damage of your projectiles by about 20% but there's several other supports than can scale better than that so it's not really worth using.

But its +4 additional projectiles.

And the skill fires 3 baseline so the "less projectile damage" modifier hits it pretty hard.

No GMP: 3 projectiles deal 72% weapon damage each = 216% weapon damage
GMP: 7 projectiles deal 36% weapon damage each = 252% weapon damage

Ok. Thanks for the math.
Ok Fearmonger, after much staring and checking, I finally figured out your spreadsheet (which is beautiful btw), I thought the projectile damage looked way too low which is why I was like wtf did he do wrong. Then I realized that you don't factor in the attack speed on the displayed number (which makes sense really, but it would be nice to see somewhere).

Everything checks out really nice, I would replace my spreadsheet with this one as it's WAY easier to use!

Thanks, I'm very happy with it as well. I guess that's what you get when it's your 4th time (or something) making a PoE DPS spreadsheet in google docs.

I added his but will not replace yours. Both spread sheets deserve recognition for the time and effort you guys put into doing this. I thank you both on behalf of everyone following this thread for your amazing contributions!

I appreciate it! But I think a few of my calculations are still off lol. I am trying to clean them up, but people should use Fearmongers! :P

So from further testing, AoF will be taken in this thread. We do need to run a LL gem though.

my 5L currently is MS + Multi + WED + LL + BM. Will probably keep this set up so i can maintain Hatred and more importantly, grace.

Also fun fact, Quality Molten Strike increases fire damage by .5% per 1% quality. Might be a fun one to put on the spread sheets to see bigger numbers :) Get that gem leveled up!

It's actually 0.75% per quality, someone posted a screenshot of a 20q on Reddit yesterday.

oh hell ya... i just bummped mine up to 2% and saw the 1% increase so I assumed .5%. .75% is even better :)

just grabbed berserking, the massive IAS node, and it makes the build just soooo much more fun to play. So man fireballs

I have been following this thread for a while and I have to say it is really interesting to both play a molten strike character and to follow the mechanics discussion in this thread.

Looking over the tree, I was wondering what is the benefit here for taking resolute technique since this build gets its primary damage from the projectiles which fire even if you miss. On top of that my marauder is running a 91% hit chance at level 29 and I seem to hit most of the time.

The other thing I was wondering was something I actually posted before, but I think might have gotten overlooked. For a non AoF build running hatred, would taking Ice Bite by the duelist tree not give a nice dps boost?
Hey Dark, sorry I missed your question about Ice Bite. For a non AoF build, it is about a 5% boost in damage. Nothing to try and work your way towards. Good to pick up if you go past it.

We take RT cause we don't want to miss, ever. The initial hit still hits like a truck. My tool tip for it is just over 5000 dmg with MS + WED + Added Fire + LL + BM. thats' a lot of extra life you would miss out on if you missed.

Also that initial hit is very nice for downing bosses very quickly too. Your accuracy is fine now but it wont be when you hit maps. You can post pone it if you like but I wouldn't recommend it.
