swap out your wrath for purity for the magic resistance and watch your minions roll through everything(except for mobs that deal chaos dmg). I did that and everything suddenly seem so easy when i had trouble in merciless A3(except for piety).

P.S If your minions are still dying as if the purity aura didn't even exist, it could be that you are not near your minions to give them the aura buff so you might want to consider going for the node that adds range of your auras.(forgot the name but its just on the left of the Necromatic Aegis node)
Thanks i will try it and let u know,

Question for snowhammer or anyone who is using this build with proliferation and focusing on keeping arc as a dps dealer:

What do you think about sweeping down (about 3 int nodes) to pick up templar's bonus to lightning damage too? I decided to try this and all those bonuses have really started to help boost my dos, but uncertain as to whether or not I should really be grabbing those before the last summoner node.

Heya,

If you look at my "end goal" a few pages back - I'm also grabbing those lighting/elemental nodes. That said, I'm not going to grab them untill I've gotten all the nodes up in the Waitch Area (All the Light Dam, Spell Dam and 3 Casting Speed Nodes)

Personally, I would try to avoid "sacrificing" minion power in order to increase your DPS. For exampple, I recently found a Neclace that increased my Lighting Damage by 18% (and had over 30 total Rarity - 8 All resists). It was REALLY tempting to use it instead of Sidhbreath Amulet - it would have given me another 80 avg DPS on the tool tip for Arc.

However, I think the core of this build, the real meat of this build, of course is and will always be your minions being super powerfull and explding for a lot of damage too.

The Arc DPS should be a secondary goal. The only place I've "sacrificed" minion power so far is my Boots. I'm not using the silk summoner boots, but, those dont add minion power, just +1Zombie and Spectre.. which in my mind isn't as desireable as actual power (life and damage and speed) for your minions.

TL/DR: I'd get all the +Spell/Lighting you can, but don't do it "instead" of getting minion nodes.

I'm on the fence about it still. For my early 60s-70ish I used the boots. I was in awe of my 3 spectres deystorying everything.

But then I found a pair of boots with 30% move speed and 85 life. I can't quit using them. I feel so much "better" being able to move that fast plus its about a 200 life difference.

So, yes, more spectres is a good thing!
But for me (again I'm no expert - this is just what my play style likes) I'd rather be moving faster and have more life than those boots give us.

Well, be sure to keep in mind that an item like Sidhebreath that has +15% minion damage does not actually give your pets 15% more total damage than not not wearing it. Your pets should be well over +200% damage from passives and a Minion Damage support gem at higher levels, so another 15% is a much less substantial boost than people think.

On the other hand, +1 spectre is an enormous boost to your actual killing speed. So if you want to give up any of the summoner uniques for better personal stats, Sidhebreath is the best candidate in my opinion.

I agree, the extra speed is trivial with haste aura and minion speed support gem , and a +20 attribute neck would help a lot. The extra hp% only is a gain of 800hp for my zombie.

14,000 before 14,800 after (not much gained to make a significant differnce. I already drop it in favor of a rarity find ammy.

I'm currently lv 50 and loving this build so far. Does anyone know if EB is viable for this build? I tried it because I want to have more auras up but I felt a lot more squishy without the ES. Thank you.
