Whilst I really appreciate a well written description of your views, you still have the unsatiable habit of writing on behalf of what you believe to be some kind of core demographic.
Whilst I can't sit here and say you are wrong when it comes to scaring away new players, I can say with equal conviction that just as many players are attracted to the game for the things you believe to be flaws.
The other side isn't always greener.
Regarding desync.... I can disagree with you here fully. Put it this way... if GGG could be rid of desync, whilst keeping the core mechanics that contribute to it (block, body-blocking etc) then they would. Being that they WANT those core mechanics in the game which they have confirmed, the next step is to think around the issues, not 'suggest' to get rid of the mechanics.
I have nothing against you or the various posters on here who share your opinions but I think there is a depth to the repercussions of changes that have been suggested, that just isnt taken into consideration fully on these boards (suprise huh!!)
You have wanted change for a long time to make this game more enjoyable from your perspective (and others) and I have equally hoped they dont cave in to some of those requests.
I dont think this game is perfect, I think lots of yours/other peoples suggestions are great, but ultimately I accept the flaws because the pro's outweigh it. Even if the game stayed exactly as it is now.
I do represent a large body of players, because i constantly run into people who feel the same as me. Never did i say though that ours are choices that are the best, but i did say and mean that not all choices of GGG are of optimum quality just for a different taste.
Who can blame them really, you can't blame people for being who they are. Well, i don't care anymore, all i know is i won't be posting suggestions or hoping for change very much anymore. I will just enjoy the game that is whenever i feel like it, while seeking something to fulfill my inner desires for an ARPG, because i know PoE did not capture the world's deep cravings for a proper ARPG that has not been sated since D2. Just feel and you know i am right, just a small portion of players are willing to put up with PoE's tecnical issues, unwelcomeness and barreness. PoE's role in gaming culture is a side role compared to how big D2 was. Vanilla and tbc wow were actually better than D2 and the evolution of ARPG's, but unfortunately that game has changed and the old can no longer be played well (hopefully corecraft changes that).
I believe the true evolution will not be a game that looks like a 2D game, but rather one that is viewed and controlled like WoW, where combat feels more rewarding, intense and responsive.

Not sure what your "block, body-blocking" is supposed to reference, but desync is in the game because a certain lead dev made a bad decision from the very beginning. That decision was so fundamentally flawed that all other decisions have been formed around it due to necessity. Desync can be mitigated, but GGG doesn't have the resources to do so. It's a case of "too fucked up to fix." Doesn't mean it's wanted. Honestly, do you really believe that desync is beneficial? Do you really believe it's better to have it than to lessen its impact like virtually ever other online game in existence>
Sorry, but desync appears to be more of a first-timers colossal mistake instead of a well-thought plan.

you have an idea that a team of devs who have been listening to bitching about desync forever haven't thought of ?
possible. unlikely, but possible.

The fixes for desync are real. The cost to GGG to make those fixes are unobtainable in their eyes. Don't act like they're above making decisions based on perceived reality of their situation.

Remember when we were kids and we would just play a game and enjoy it, or not enjoy it and move on to something else without jumping onto social media or online forums to endlessly talk about it for hours?
I do.

Meh, I played/built in MUDs a lot growing up. I certainly gave feedback.
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

I echo these sentiments.
With one caveat; the game never staying the same is one the aspects I appreciate a great deal, regardless of how I feel about the changes themselves.

The problem with your logic is that we don't know the information - and not only that: GGG is totally unwilling to provide us the information.
The information being the actual number of players from past to present. Actually playing the game.
When the number of actual players playing the game dwindles to a certain point you can't even dispute what the majority of players like or dislike.
So really, either side of the argument can say one thing or the other until the numbers are released then we can't really be correct. HOWEVER that same time I can question WHY GGG wouldn't release the information. Nervous? Scared? I would say highly likely. I think if they had any actual number actively PLAYING the game they would just slam it in our faces - negative people like: "HAHAHA see boys: OBVIOUSLY people love our game here's this months number of players." - I bet large money that the number of players - not number of accounts made: let's be very clear here: actual people playing the game - is very very small especially in comparison of any other ARPG out there.
