fps drops when new spells are cast

Disabling GLSL never fixed this for me, my hardware might be too slow for the translating of hlsl bytecodes to matter. Have always had video lag on heavy shader compiles.

I tried installing the latest beta Nvidia proprietary driver 343.13 and compiled 1.7.26 with patches from comment 84 here. The fps drops are still there in endgame content. I think it may be a bit better. However, not ideal. With GLSL disabled, the GUI glitches are there and the fps drops are gone. So, not much changes with this approach.

I'm having problems of constant blanking screen on startup, stuck on loading screen.

winetricks osr=backbuffer

This will get it to load.

I couldn't find osr in winetricks, the closest I could find was orm, which probably is the same.
"
orm=backbuffer Set OffscreenRenderingMode=backbuffer
orm=fbo Set OffscreenRenderingMode=fbo (default)

Setting this to backbuffer get me another crash:

Sorry, I meant the crash happens when I run the game. backbuffer is set.

I decided to instal with PlayOnLinux with the steps provided in the wiki and it worked.. sorta... at least I got the game to run. Maybe the trick was the specific version of wine.

The game is ok, except for the mouse pointer that is completely off. Also I can't change graphics settings ingame without freezing. So I change everything directly on the file.

EDIT: The mouse problem was solved after I changed my resolution. Everything seems so fine now! I'll let you know if anything else comes up. For now, your guide on wiki worked very well!

Thanks for the help btw!

You are welcome. Glad the guide I wrote on the wiki helped you out.

Ooh now I see it was you! Double thanks then!

The only change I had to make is to enable GLSL or else the graphics wouldn't show up.

Hmm, yeah that would be the case with ATI/AMD graphics as I recall.

the missing art from the loading screens?

This is kind of a regression for us, just wondering if anyone found a workaround.

Reproducible issue on several systems for me.

Exactly. I can not see loading screens now with latest patched wine.
Before 1.2.2 I did not have such issue (wine 1.6.2)

Regarding black screen at WP - I can not reproduce this problem

You do not need patches from comment 84, use the patch from comment 83 instead
