FoxTactics "Lightning Ninja" Arc build 18k+ : No update for 1.2

How would I go getting the dex requirements for AA? I'm doing a similar build and I can't seem to get the right amount of dex without sacrificing an important mod like es or spell dmg. What can I do to fix this issue?

Just hit level 74 with this build this morning and I'm having great fun with it still.
I got most of my equipment to the links I wanted and then corrupted everything.



Loving this build still and will be using it as my main in the new league.
Just need to figure out what order I need to level characters in to hit my shopping list of gems the fastest :)

So I ripped last night at 66, to 1hit phys dmg :P Really those modifiers curerently going on in 1 month HC race are insane lol. Had loads of fun though, and will probably reroll the Arc witch in the new league. However I need to make some changes for HC, but all my attempts to make a decent tree that includes IR and MoM (as cloak will be too hard to get in new league early on) have failed.
It's just so many wasted points. Does anyone have a good tree? Could be another class as well.

the final 4L gem setup fox was using was

Arc + Empower + Lightning Pen + Spell Echo

lightning pen doesnt show anything in tooltip dps, so faster fasting will give me sheet numbers, but lightning pen gives massive 'invisible' dps, and Im fairly sure Fox would recommend the gem setup above over dropping pen for faster casting. However, its a personal preference thing.

sadly not my friend. Arc is a spell so flat lightning damage on a weapon does not effect it, this only applies to attacks made with the scepter. Arc is not an attack, its a spell, theres a technical difference there. The mods that you want are spell damage, lightning damage % and cast speed, like this...

all gloves can roll dex, its advisable to try and get dex on the glove slot, and possibly on a ring/amulet if need it.

Not sure if my calcs are correct so if they are not one of the experts can correct me and I'll update the post.
To figure out which is better do the following :
1. Use the 4 gems above and take note of your DPS.
2. Multiply the value by the % of Lightning Pen you have. So if you have 30% you multiply it by 1.3 for example.
3. Replace lightning pen with faster casting and note your DPS.
4. Whichever is higher from point 2 and 3 is the one you use.

However, the advantage of faster casting and it is marginal in my opinion is that you can cast and warp, cast and warp faster then without faster casting.
But in my experience, limited so far, its better to penetrate them to death then it is to run from them :)

The pen thing, what you said is roughly right I think. Im not 100% on the mechanics so dont quote me here, but I think in practice its down to the lightning resist the mobs have etc.

Say, just for theory sake, a target has 70% resist, that means 30% of your damage is getting through. If you penetrate 30% of that they go down to 40% resist, meaning 60% of your damage gets through. In that situation you are doubling the amount of damage you do. If the target has 99% resist, and then you knock it down to 69%, then youre doing 30x more damage, so it scales depending on their initial resist etc.

No mob has 99% resist as far as i know, very few would even have 70% resist I imagine. If a mob has 0% I have a feeling you will knock them into - figures, so its always having an effect, not entirely sure there but I have a feeling thats how it works. In that case, you were doing 100%, now you are doing 130% so its a third of your damage on top, but if youre cursing and theyre already in the - figures its less....


I could be completely wrong there but as far as I know its something along those lines.



Personally I use a 6 Link arc

Arc + Empower + Lightning Pen + Spell Echo + faster casting + elemental proliferation

its more sheet dps with my setup than using the 4L in foxes old vertex. Fox was still getting more deeps from the 4L vertex when he took the build apart, but he was doing the righteous fire version. Its a close call either way, personal preference thing.

Is this version of the build able to do Atziri or do you need to switch over to the RF/Surgeon?

Ok, here is my 2 cents, i finished dominus,run my first rare map that got as a quest form killing dominus. Atm of dominus kill i am lvl64, he is lvl70 or so. didn't die and kill it in 5min. 2,5k life and 2k mana and 4300dmg on 0,28 sec cast speed tooltip.
