" The SFL has been suggested, it was turned down (more then one quote from Chris Wilson and other devs stating this floating around here), then its been suggested again and again and again since and now with a new poll! Its not you doing this, sure, but you don't control the group - I am reflecting on what I see from reading the forums every day for a few hours over the last few years. Also, this is removing a huge chunk of the game, not adding as you say or even changing (just like how "adding" options removed loot competition) It's a simple formula: take anything in the game that people don't like and suggest it be removed. Fighting over loot sux, having to make friends to gain advantages takes effort, learning prices of items so you don't get ripped off trading is a pain. So hows this? lets remove everything bad, but make it "optional" so people who claim they like that bad stuff in the game can still do it if they want. Unfortunately, because the game is multi-player all it takes is one persons preference to shift the group to one side as we all saw the total dominance of the PA loot setting in public games. I think when you get the SFL it will be more popular then the other leagues actually, it will be boring as hell but it's still not worth the effort of going back to the other leagues because they will then ONLY be populated with people vested in trade and RMT'ing etc. " No. Despite your intentions (that I largely agree with actually), the effect is definitely "candy for dinner". trading sucks! -no easy to use auction house - the forums don't cut it, masses of trade only games -learning prices or you get unfair trade -players who trade more then play get wealthier - unethical traders even more so. -new players are overwhelmed I'm sure there is many more examples if I spent any time thinking, but those are enough. Answer? remove trading. FTW " This is subjective your right. But, what I DO know, is that GGG designed the game with FFA loot for a reason, it was not arbitrary, these were careful decisions. Great care was taken to preserve a real economy and the ability for us to trade. I read all the early design manifestos before I bought a diamond supporter - thus I think the lead designers of this game would agree with my "terrible notions" at least I got that going for me. " I am trying to show another perspective here, I am GLAD you don't agree with it. CHAPEL PERILOUS : Winner of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival <--- |

" Even if GGG implemented the exact SFL that I would want to play...I would still continue to play standard like I do now along with that league. Why would I do that? Because a SFL would be a different experience. Its something that I think that I would enjoy, but if I want to do a specific build with specific uniques without waiting I would have to do that in a trading league, unless I want to grind for a long long time hoping that I get the right unique drops to make it. IMO, the other leagues will be fine and a SFL would have a mediocre population, maybe even a low one depending on how GGG implements it. " My issue here isn't actually with trading itself, just the game thats built around it. I don't mind trading, I just don't like that its so much better than playing the game. I don't like that the drops and crafting are in such a bad state. Standard Forever

" We have almost 1,300 votes, of which 67% have voted in favour of testing a dedicated, optional SFL. We have about 15 % on the fence, and 19% against. This poll isn't perfect, but it's better than having nothing and basing everything on pure speculation. Petrov. Last edited by mrpetrov#7089 on Apr 27, 2014, 10:35:27 AM
