" The SFL for solo players is simply a matter of scale. That means instead of playing 1000 hours to amass enough fusings and jewelers to do any *cough* crafting, it should only take maybe 100 hours (10 times the drop rates). Why you ask? Because I play PoE at about 1/10th the time of the top hardcore players. And no, please don't use the lame argument that you would beat SFL quickly and become bored and quit, you and all other super hardcore players are never supposed to play it. Same as I shouldn't complain that I died quickly in the Rogues Everywhere Race because it's too super hard. I understand GGGs reasoning on making PoE hardcore and don't want the difficulty of the mobs and bosses reduced, only the time it takes to acquire crafting orbs and a better item progression path than the current leagues provide to offset the fact that me and millions are time limited and thus can't enjoy the full package of PoE. Of course I realize that just upping the drop rates on orbs and better gear progression/scaling at the higher levels won't fix the core problems of desync, frame rate slowdowns from high visual effects, RNG, etc. that plague us and tarnish the "fun" of playing PoE (and ruin it for many), but I am a realist and understand that the devs. are limited in what can be done with their small team. Adding a SFL is easier than fixing desync or getting their own trading stash system up and running. Please no one say "but if GGG takes time to make an SFL it will mean less time available for fixing desync." Desync won't be fixed any faster anyway since it is the result of an overloaded custom game engine and as such is super complicated so I don't expect much headway on its reduction for a very long time. I see nothing vague here in wanting a more rewarding playing experience for my solo playing of PoE. A whole new game is not required, just a league of our own to increase our solo self-found PoE fun. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. You know this poll is biased because the thread title is not neutral.
If it was it would be more representable but as it is, its just to get SFLers to vote. With more SFLers voting its like a rigged election. Make another poll. Make the thread title fair for both sides. Invite the proponents and the opponents to vote. Then we can talk. |
