White Sockets -OR- Corrupted Mod : Why?

When we compare the worst a Vaal orb can do and the best it can give you; We can see that while good outcomes are limited: you can't get white sockets AND a new implicit mod; Bad outcomes are also limited : You can't get rares with 3-4-5 mods, you always have 6 mods.

Limitation of good results is superior to limitation of bad outcomes, why? See for yourself:

Not corrupted item(Let's put aside gems) :
1. Rarity type : +0(Neutral)
2. Links : +0
3. Sockets : +0
4. Colors : +0
5. base mod : +0

Worst Outcomes:
1. Downgrade unique -1
2. Downgrade links -1
3. Downgrade sockets -1
+ Cannot be modified( add 4. downgrade colors -1)

Best outcomes:

1. Keep sockets/links/colors/item integrity : +0
2. Either new implicit +1 OR white sockets. +1
You can't get the 2 at the same time.
+ Cannot be modified ( 3. Neutral outcome +0 since you have modified the item appropriately before corrupting)

While your item can be totally destroyed; Why can't you get white sockets + new implicits at the same time?

White sockets are IMO the biggest fail of Vaal Orbs. Not that they aren't useful, but having the rest of your links and socket colors permanently scrambled makes the whole proposition a flying leap off a Wiley Coyote cliff. Now that GGG has broken the ice with customizable white sockets, we should start lobbying for a sane way to actually craft the sockets to our needs.

Well yeah the RNG thing is what it is, unledd they change it we have to deal with it. It's like trying to 6L a 5L, and fusing being able to break the 5L, let's just deal with it and put it aside.

tbh i think that's a pretty fair question, and i actually thought that multipled difference "sections" could be affected by the same vaal orb at once.

Silly that you can't get socket and mod at the same time actually.
