why dont you consider going for a doom cast? isnt 60% crit chance good enough?
and btw, im going for a witch of a similar build but i died a lot
will you find yourself dying too much in higher difficulty?
What is the price of a high quality Freezing Pulse?

I will go for Doom cast too; I'm running a similar build and didn't die a lot, most monsters freeze or chill then die before reaching me, although archers can be annoying.

I feel like the best way to go about getting a 20% freezing pulse is to try and find a 12% for 2 gcp in trade chat. Then spend 8 to make it 20%. Haven't seen any higher going for cheaper than that + the GCP you have to spend to make it 20%. Anyone feel free to correct me, but from what I've seen 15%+ will generally run atleast an exalted (6 gcp imo) + 5 gcp to get to 20% (total spent being 11, instead of 10 when buying 12% for 2 gcp and using 8 gcp to get it to 20%).

Whenever you get a chance aimless could you show up what you would do in the skill tree when you go CI (for those of us that want to go CI eventually, myself included)?

Read page 4 and 5. I was asking about CI.

I too was thinking about Doom Cast. But I think this is not good idea, until 70-80. If we want add Doom Cast, we must spend 3 points, so this is +20% crit chance every point and until end-game we have better nodes to add.
Hey Aimlessgun, or anyone else that can offer some guidance.

I'm almost lv50 now with this build and Freezing Pulse is really, really good (I bought a q17% gem early even), but there's something about only really using this one spell all the way from level 1 to 70+ that's starting to grate on me. I think it's a combination of the fast cast rate combined with the sound effect for it, and my Shadow's yells while spamming it, that's starting to bug me. I wish there was an alternate FP visual/sound I could buy from the cash shop.

Of course I use IS sometimes for long range and an IS totem but I'm struggling to see what could compare to FP as the main spammed attack. Ice Nova isn't really practical to use anymore, Cold Snap isn't spammable and the AoE seems really small. Arctic Breath is... I wish this spell was good with LMP+chain or something but it's just so slow and clumsy to use.

What are some ways I can modify this build's playstyle (without altering the tree drastically) to provide some variety?

- Turn IS into my main spam spell when I can get the correct sockets/supports combination?

- Spec into dual IS totems and use traps or something? I don't know how easy this build would be to modify for that.

- Switch element? But I don't think this is an option because I'd lose so much survivability and it's a lot of points to respec.

I'll just play my alt Summoner in merciless for a while for a change of pace and turn the volume way down when I do play my Shadow. But hoping someone can offer advice on how to mix up this build.
I first made a witch, and I was EXTREMELY unhappy with it. But ofc, as a new player to this kind of genre, I was bound to mess up my first character. (I've never played diablo, so I had no idea what the heck I was doing). I decided to try a Shadow and used this guide, and I do not regret it. This guide has made my gameplay so much more fun, like you deserve a freaking award. The build is so smooth, simple and very effective. I recommend this 100%

So THANK YOU.

Hey man, thanks a lot for this build. I'm up to level 68 now and it's awesome. Couple of questions though:

1. How do you manage without taking the second set of might and agility nodes? Do you have +str/dex gear? I was forced to take them since I just couldn't cover the requirements on the Faster Projectiles, LMP and Reduced mana I use for my auras.

2. What do you recon about Item Rarity/Item Quantity as a 5th+ link for FP? I don't seem to especially need the DPS boost past the first three.

Up to you on MF gems, if you want the drops at the cost of slightly slower XP then go for it.

I have some random str and dex on gear. The build assumes an Onyx amulet actually, so you may have to use an extra passive on a +30 node.

can golden kris have better properties than copper kris?
i wonder if i should farm copper kris in normal or golden in cruel :/

If you farm it in normal it will have lower itemlevel and the possible mods are worse. The only difference is itemlvl though, so if you find a copper kris in cruel, its just as good as a golden kris from the same area.

Hi. First of all I wanted to thank you for this build, I'm still low leve but I'm finding it a lot of fun. I only had a question, would it be a better idea to go Doom Cast (60% crit chance on spell between CI and EB) since I'm so near on my way to the witch area ?

I do get doom cast eventually, but I prioritized getting to the templar start area quickly. Doom cast is the first thing I get after getting Discipline and Training though.

Depends on how well you play :p

With proper gear, you will only die when you screw up, or desync screws you over (or do really horrible map mods I guess. Don't do shit like an ele reflect map :p )

I'm hit or miss on the 'not screwing up' part. I'll go dozens of hours without dying then die twice in 2 hours. I think I have like around 5-6 deaths since 75, and all but one was my fault and totally avoidable (and one to desync bs).

A3 cruel, merc Vaal, merc bandits and A3 merc can be very rough though if you're underleveled and undergeared and playing solo.

Hi. I am newbie and need some help. Since this game has near to no re-spec option, i decided to use some guide for my first hero and my choice felled on this. I am at lvl 30 and i have a question. Why have you went in full hp passive nodes? I want to go ES as primary defense, and get only few hp nodes with rly great bonuses, but dont know at which state hp and es builds can be in very high lvls. Does ES build can compete with hp build, or better focus hp?

If you really want to go ES primary, you need good gear for it. The best way would be going HP until you felt your ES gear was good enough then switching. Speaknig of...

I was trying to make a tree and the switch is looking less and less worthwhile until I hit like...lvl 95 or something ridiculous. Because to make Bloodrage really worth it, I want to go into the ranger area for that delicious crit dmg and 2 more Frenzy charges, but it takes so many points that I end up having to sacrifice defense. At lvl 90 with really good ES gear I'd probably only have 5k ES, which is definitely worse than my current 3k HP / 2k ES. It's a LOT more damage though.

Here's the ridiculous glass cannon build that you probably shouldn't try.
